well I sure hecked this up, that's what I get for drawing everyone separately with zero point of reference between them to get the scaling right, because I draw everything in a rom graphics editing program from like 1999 in 4bpp snes format
at least merle turned out okay even though hes so big from all the detail I put in (because I basically modeled his size based on the extreme teen bible, theres no way I could have skipped drawing that)
I was going to do more (involving the newest story arc and everyone's favorite earth elemental sherrif) but I was already restricted enough, i had a whole explaination written out but its just a wall of text, basically every time i do something big like this i have to use multiple levels in my art ROM (because that's how i 'export' my art, drawing it in a graphics editor then inserting it as ExGFX in a super mario world rom) then take screenshots of each level and, in post, stitch them together like some sort of Frankenstein's art piece to make it look better with layering, after already doing as much layering as i can in-game, considering the limit of 6 non-sprite 128x64 ExGFX files per level, as a result, including even more would only make it harder to make it look good (as-is it's just barely passable i feel like, I'm pretty sure i positioned taako wrong but if i moved him one tile to the left he'd overlap with merle and make it a nightmare to assemble without using even more level space, since the adventure zone logo was on the foreground layer while merle and taako were on the background layer). also dammit i made a wall of text again adgfsdhgdh
i don't know how to tumblr still after all of this time so i hope im tagging this right, maybe i need to do @theadventurezone ??? i don't even know nothing i find is clear on what the difference is between tagging someone and tagging posts, or maybe im just an idiot and don't get it
