Zelda couldn’t go to just any pool, no, she had to go to one at a spa that cost too much money. Money didn’t matter to her and even if it did, she’d still go. Only the best of the best for her. She went outside and did a few laps in the pool before she sat in one of the lounge chairs. She chose the one with the pink and white striped cushions, there she set up her bag and little array of books. With her sunglasses on and a book in hand, she leaned back and started her afternoon was reading and tanning. Not that her pale skin was able to tan much without burning.

About thirty minutes in, she felt a pair of eyes on her and she started to speak, her eyes still trained on her book. “Just because I am wearing sunglasses doesn’t mean I can’t see you- but if you’d like to flirt with me, you are welcome to it, I’m single.”

“Where did you say you got this?” Zelda played with the plastic bag in her hand, trying to figure out what the stuff inside of it was. It was and gooey...that’s the only thing she was sure of. As much as she wanted to put this under the microscope, she felt almost disappointed that this kid, of all people, was one of the few to recognize her brilliance and seek her out for it. (He was probably just desperate for any help, that thought didn’t cross her self-centered mind.)  It didn’t matter how he found her, she was going to help him and if this was interesting enough, she might be able to study it further and make a fortune with little repercussion. Steve didn’t even look eighteen, she’d be safe enough from a lawsuit.

“This came from an animal right? Or did you get this off your shoe to fuck with me?” She studied him sitting on her boyfriend’s couch, trying to figure out his motives. Was this some science project that he wanted her to do?

“Come on, babe, it’s clear you’re not one of us.” Zelda rolled her eyes at the man beside her and then leaned back into the couch cushions. Despite being a top-notch scientist, she loved being able to go to Club Neolution and let the stress melt away in the form of drugs. Her loud voice, awkward dancing, and suddenly exuberant personality would make her stand out at work but it was completely normal here. As the lights in the club flashed, she a dumb grin spread across her face and she leaned in towards him.

“If you’re here for the drugs, then you’re pretty stupid. You can get this good stuff anywhere. What do you reeaaallyyyy want? I can tell if you’re lying.”
