My family goes to Hawaii almost every year, and we like to snorkel, so this was kind of inspired by that. It’s a turtle with a coral reef and some Hawaiian fish.
This is one of the pieces where I actually tried to pick patterns that fit what they were making up, and for the coral, the patterns actually were the things, which I really really like!!
Probably my only regret with this piece was that I used two greens on the turtle instead of leaving some parts of it white...the patterns in the hexagons on his shell, and his legs are actually all different, and very intricate, but you can’t tell because they blend together...
