Composites: Zeoform
Created using cellulose and water, Zeoform is the brand name of a new composite patented by the company Zeo IP Pty. Though it is still a relatively new material, the company claims that it is non-toxic and biodegradable and suggested applications include replacing parts typically made with hard plastics or other composites such as wood composites.
As cellulose is the main ingredient, Zeoform can be created from numerous other biomaterials, including recycled paper, cotton, bamboo, coconut, and hemp. It does not require any glues, adhesives, or binders, only water. Zeoform can be processed in a variety of forms, varying the strength, density, and other properties in the process, and can be sprayed, molded, or pressed into various shapes.
