By far the best part of Zoey’s Extraordinary Christmas was when Joan burst in right at the beginning, brought the house down with her rendition of All I Want for Christmas is You, and proceeded to spend the next 2 hours making this Zoey’s best Christmas ever.
Here’s the exact exchange about being Zoey being drunk in Daytona:
Simon: “I hit them with a few body shots.”
Zoey: “Yeah you did! (Long pause) “Like a drunk white girl in Daytona!”
*Complete silence*
Zoey: “You don’t know my past...” (sips drink while looking mildly embarrassed)
Translation: ZOEY DID BODY SHOTS OFF OF JOAN AT THE CONFERENCE. CHANGE MY FUCKING MIND.
The ZEP season 2 promo really said that the love triangle gets MORE important this season and I just rolled my eyes so hard it gave me a headache. 🙄
I’ll stop shipping Zoey and Joan when Zoey stops looking absolutely shook whenever Joan starts singing.
It was so nice to get “I’ll Stand by You” in “Zoey’s Extraordinary Employee” but honestly reading @ofstormsandwolves fic of the same name is still the definitive version in my mind.
Things in ZEP Ep 3 that were very much Not Fair
- Jane Levy just casually being THAT freakin’ talented.
- Maggie singing Someone You Loved (are you trying to kill me? If that is not on the soundtrack, I’m starting a riot). I was legit shook when that song started.
- Jenna is bae now and I will protecc. Her friendship with Maggie is everything.
- George being so friggin’ adorable literally every second he’s on screen. He’s like Olaf but somehow more likable.
- Mo and Eddie breaking up OFF-SCREEN?! (NOOOOOOO I NEEDS MY GAYS TO BE HAPPY!!!)
- Simon being all kind and considerate and present for Zoey without a hint of ulterior motives or disdain for her dating M*x. Fucking friendship goals.
- The casual reference to McKenzie playing softball in college (MAJOR rainbow flag vibes, they’d better confirm that shit soon).
- Yet ANOTHER amazing Brogrammers number. They are getting like one per episode now and I am here for it. Still want the Galgrammers to get one tho.
SO yeah, this was apparently the “everyone is tired and everyone breaks up” episode. Watch with tissues.
*If episode 4 (Zoey’s Extraordinary Employee) isn’t about McKenzie, we have been robbed. But I’d take George as an acceptable alternative.*
