Future Reviews and Adjustments

I just thought I’d make a quick blog post and let you all know of some of the things that have been going through my head. You may have noticed a lack of content on my channel. I have some ideas that I’ll be implementing soon to make the content on the channel just a little more professional and a lot more engaging.

In the next week or so I’ll be getting a nicer lighting kit to make the recording/lighting process much easier. Aside from that I’m also getting a new fangled HD capture card to keep my game footage looking great.

I’ve also been toying with some new camera angles. The stationary, sitting in chair, playing video game with game shelf backdrop is classic, but can be boring to look at if used extensively. I’ll be playing with colored lighting and wall decorations varying with the content of the video. Along with angle and location jumps when switching between intro/conclusion and in-game discussion points.

I’d also like to add some animation to my intros, but so far haven’t found anybody able to help me in that department. So, if you know of anybody, let me know!

I thought I’d take this time to share with you some of my ideas for future reviews. There are a lot of games I’d like to talk about, some more than others, so let’s make a list.

Alundra is most likely coming next, but I’ll keep you all posted if that changes. I also have a new show idea that will probably debut in September called Flash Reviews. These will be short 3-5 minute videos where I give quick ~1 minute discussions/reviews of noteworthy games I’ve been playing recently - probably 3-4 games each video. This will give me an opportunity to get information out there on games I find interesting that I don’t feel deserve long discussions in the typical review format. These videos will also be much easier to produce meaning I can post them between other projects.

Finally, I’m toying with the idea of doing some streams. Either monthly or biweekly. I’m not entirely sure this is feasible right now, but it’s something I’m looking into. Just a way to share ideas, get suggestions, and generally connect with the viewers.
