Things i have learned about being a taxi driver from the taxi driver show nobody but me has watched here i guess
There is no solid schedule. Sometimes you work the night shift one day the day shift a different day, sometimes you work for 24 hours no breaks (this is safe nobody is scared to enter the taxi with your sleep deprived self behind the wheel don’t worry )
You need to live in the city you drive in except for when you don’t then nobody cares
Women will never make it as taxi drivers.
All taxi drivers are blind and deaf and cannot tell their coworker secretly IS a woman.
It is incredibly hard to lose this job. You can literally do anything. They will never fire you. That guy was on drugs. He leveled a street lantern. He was with prostiutes on the job. Nobody cares?? Ok! Fine! Sure!
If someone is paying you, no matter how much that is, you will do ANYTHING for them. Legal. Illegal. Morally dubious even. They’ll do it. They have to. You’re paying them.
Following the law, or even general morality pail in comparison to the value of keeping your taxi driver honor. You don’t want to go to jail, sure, but before that you also don’t want to embarrass yourself or the taxi driver community.
This job is fucking scary. Sometimes you get held at gunpoint by a foreigner and a random firefighter. Sometimes you have to drive around nazis. Sometimes you have to drive around the mother of the guy you’re pretending to be. Sometimes random women want to get in your pants and you have beat around the bush into not engaging in lesbian sex. Sometimes that leads you to sleeping in your car and seeing ghosts.
Warsaw has a lot of statues of historical figures riding horses.
