Summary: It's @the-new-fanfic-order birthdaaaaaay!!! And this is just some self-indulgence for me and my best gal pal!
It was a mess. A big, giant mess. Bodhi was freaking the fuck out because he wanted this to be perfect! What was he doing, you may ask? Well, today was Zoe’s birthday and he thought it would be a good idea to make her a birthday cake! Zoe was the cook and baker of the relationship. She was amazing at it. Bodhi? Well...he was crap at it. But he thought this would be a cute gesture! So he asked Poe and Leilani to take her out for a birthday brunch while he set everything up back at the apartment.
Bodhi: This is a mess! I can’t bake for shit!
Leilani: Well, we’re almost done with our shopping spree so you better think of something!
Leilani: JUST GO TO THE STORE AND BUY HER A CAKE! AND WRITE ON IT WITH ICING YOURSELF!
So Bodhi just trashes every single attempt of the birthday cake and rushes out of the apartment to the nearest grocery store. He rushes to the back where the cakes are and just picks one. He buys a flower candle and books it to the cashier.
Leilani: We’re almost there!
Bodhi: WAIT! I’M STILL OUT!
Leilani: HURRY THE FUCK UP!
Bodhi races to his car and speeds back to the apartment. He climbs the stairs two steps at a time and almost crashes in a poor old woman.
The apartment door slams shut and he flips the lid off the cake. He takes the icing pipe and quickly scribbles “Happy Birthday, Zoe” on top. As soon as he sets the candle onto the cake, the door opens.
“Babe, I’m home!” he hears Zoe’s voice. His anxiety is through the roof!
She walks over to the kitchen and smiles to see Bodhi with his arms open, “Happy birthday!” he gestures to the cake. He scrambles for a lighter and lights the candle. He sings “Happy Birthday” as the candle ignites. It then bursts open to reveal even more candles! Bodhi has a mini heart attack yet continues to sing. Once the song is finished, Zoe blows out the candles.
“You dork. Thank you.” she looks down at the writing on the cake and looks at Bodhi, “Happy Britday?”
“What?!” Bodhi looks down and sees that he misspelled ‘Birthday’, “Aw man!”
