ZETA is a small german-based organization consisting of only a very few actual members. They have a Tumblr blog @/zetaverein and a website http://zeta-verein.de

The ZETA principles are a short set of guidelines for how people (zoos especially) should treat animals and interact with them. I think the ZETA-principles are a good guideline, though I also think the wording is outdated and should be updated to better communicate the original intent in the modern lexicon.

As far as pro-c zoos, I have mixed feelings. It usually comes from a place of seeing and respecting animals as autonomous individuals with needs, desires, wants, thoughts, feelings, etc. While I agree with that sentiment, I also see that most pro-c zoos ignore all the problems present with bestiality, or simply resort to "but I make sure those aren't factors in my relationship. Trust me bro."

One of my biggest concerns with bestiality (which is ironically never brought up by antis, who tend to favor the tired rhetorical talking point of "animals can't consent") has always been the simple fact that — consent or not — animals can't report abuse when it happens. The only individual who can attest to how respectful and consensual one's interaction was is the zoo themself and that sets a very dangerous precedent of "just trust me bro".

Not to mention that animals are legal property in our current society and have severely limited autonomy. As long as you can go out to a business, shelter, etc. and just buy yourself a "dogwife" I will continue having discomforts with domestic practice of bestiality.

Not sure if I answered your question exactly. I don't take issue with "pro-c" zoos nor with those who promote and follow the ZETA principles. I prefer to have respectful conversations with people. I have friends who are very pro-c and others who are very anti-c. If you look on my twitter you'll see I used to be much more "pro-c" than I am now.

My ming was changed by thinking about things and talking to people who respectfully disagreed. About a year or two ago I challenged myself (very pro-c at the time) to come up with good arguments against bestiality because antis rarely do. I did come up with some good arguments. Then I challenged myself to dismantle my own anti-bestiality arguments and found myself struggling.

Conversations with friends who were anti-c gave me even more to think about, and now I'm really not sure where I stand and I think I'm better for it.

I think open, respectful dialogue is the only way forward. Friends I have now have also found themselves seeing the issues with bestiality because we talked together about it. I shared my thoughts and they shared theirs.

Everyone is welcome in my company if they are commited against harm/abuse and I think most pro-c zoos are, they just have blind spots and need help seeing the full picture.
