It seems like Astenians were initially very tall and scary, likely to fight off a lot of things mayhaps?
Then as time went on and this insane size of theirs became less and less helpful they shrank to the lovable marshmallow size we know today?
Their quick adaptation skills might point to this and the Astenians likely were winning by a uh, landslide in so they likely eve saw this adaptation in process during the war.
Also theyre referenced as "Black Knights" in which black so far was shown to be significant colour. Black Glass in specific, black glass is capable of creating gateways which are these well.. portals to sleepside through the mixture of Void and Absence.
Its also how that "Black Mirror" item works and how it shows Atlas Ancestor.
Absence is Void but Void isnt Absence btw???? Not to sure what that means but apparently so, it seems like Void is like... the essence of otherwordly beings maybe? While Absence is well, created from it?

How though Im not sure? This figure with one giant eye consistently appears and is likely a symbol of something, Eye of Hatred or not? It really looks like its own thing..
This is labelled as "The Final Gateway" but I have zero clue what that means, all I can guess is that this is the entry-point for sleepside in-game where the final fight would take place.
