🎉 Zymri Birthday Batch 🍰 🌌
Introduction: I celebrated my birthday a couple weeks ago. So, I had fun imagining what Zymri would be doing on his special day! 🌌 🎵
Even though it’s his special day, Zymri has no intentions of sleeping in! He’s up bright and early and after snatching fresh rychcates and thanking his mom, Zymri is off to the Grand Arena
Upon entering the Arena’s training grounds, Zymri is greeted by his Master, J-3DI. The droid wishes his padawan a happy birthday!
For his birthday, J-3DI permits his padawan to don any of his costumes. Of course, Zymri chooses his Jedi Master one and its lightsaber
Zymri’s outfit in his pinned introductory post- a commission drawn by the amazing stealingpotatoes- is inspired by J-3DI’s Jedi Master costume!
However, even though it’s Zymri’s birthday, the Master’s and apprentice’s training routine doesn’t change. After meditation, J-3DI, who is equipped with a holo-projector, plays holo-recordings of previous Jedi so Zymri can learn the Order’s techniques and practices
Zymri asks his Master to play his favorite holo-recordings. These recordings are from the High Republic era and feature ten individuals- both Force and non-Force wielders- who are known as Team Tenoo/the Tenoo Ten. Team Tenoo always reminds Zymri of his own found family🩵
Zymri’s favorite members are the two padawans and the young Jedi Knight: Wes Vinik, Celesta Kami, and Bell Zettifar. Although, he thinks the youngling Sarracenia Sabrewing is cool, too
Wait, this sounds familiar…😉
After studying and being quizzed on the holo-recordings, it’s time for one of Zymri’s favorite birthday traditions!: J-3DI hands his blue-bladed lightsaber to his padawan for him to wield
Zymri is permitted to deflect the blaster bolts at the Arena’s training droids. Even better, Zymri is allowed to destroy a couple of the droids with his Master’s lightsaber and Force telekinesis (It’s also Balada’s tradition to receive a new droid shipment around Zymri’s birthday 😂)
After his sparring session, Zymri is wished a happy birthday by the Hunters who are the closest to him: his parents (Rieve and Nox), Uncle Diago, and Uncle Grozz
Of course, Grozz gives his nephew an air-depriving, bone-crushing hug!😂
Zymri spends one-on-one time with his moms and uncles in the Arena’s training grounds. Around mid-morning, the rest of the Hunters arrive at the training grounds to practice before the day’s matches
Rieve (with Zymri’s permission) shares the leftover rychcates with the rest of the Hunters; they’re devoured in minutes
When it is time to air the Hunters’ daily matches on the Outer Rim Sports Network (ORSN), Zymri leaves his family to join the audience at a battlefield in the Grand Arena. Since the Hunters know that Zymri’s favorite battlefields/maps are Ewok Village and Endor Aftermath, they brawl at his favorite ones
But, Zymri doesn’t watch the Hunters without his favorite snacks! Since it’s Zymri’s special day, all of his concessions are free, so he grabs extra kaadu sticks and Jabba juice with extra worrt eggs
Zymri picks the seat with the best views. However, to Zymri’s alarm, Boz Vega- the Arena’s announcer- and his droid partner, L-X1, broadcast over the intercoms to the entire Grand Arena that it is Zymri’s birthday. Even worse, a camera droid finds Zymri within the crowds and displays him on the Arena’s jumbo screens. The audience applauds
Although Zymri knows Boz means no ill-will and Boz’s spotlight of him has been a birthday tradition, which he had loved when he was younger, Zymri now hates all the attention😭
But, Zymri’s self-embarrassment instantly dissipates when the Hunters’ matches commence. Like always, Zymri’s cheers are the loudest for Rieve and Nox- he is his parents’ Number One fan!🩵
With every brawl, the Hunters always give it their all. But, on Zymri’s birthday, the Hunters allow Rieve, Nox, and Zymri’s Master and favorite uncles to win more matches than usual- as long as they don’t lord the victories over them😂
Around early evening, the day’s matches conclude. Zymri is leaving the Grand Arena, only to be swarmed by Hunters fans. Some wish Zymri a happy birthday and others, aware of his parentage, attempt to get insider information about the Hunters from him (Zymri reveals nothing). It is a perfect distraction for the Hunters to enter the chow room unnoticed
After surviving the crowds, Zymri enters the chow room. It’s pitch black. With a knowing grin, Zymri flicks on the lights and is greeted by a surprise birthday party! The Hunters throw him one every year, but Zymri is surprised every time.🩵
Zymri and the Hunters enjoy each other’s company- joking, storytelling, playing games, and eating dinner and dessert. Even Daq Dragus- co-owner of the Hunters of the Outer Rim- joins the festivities
Then, the Hunters gift Zymri their presents (Note- Not all the Hunters are featured):
Imara Vex: Something from her most recent bounty hunting excursion
Aran Tal: Something he claims that is “better” than Imara’s gift (The bounty hunter playfully slugs the Mandalorian)
Grozz: A autographed huttball from his days as a professional Huttballer
Diago: Homemade nerf jerky and nuggets from his ranch
Charr: Something from hisss latesst hunt
Pilbush: Handmade explosives with a note to have fun blowing up his enemies (Sentinel preferably included)
As a Jedi padawan, Zymri has been instructed by J-3DI that exploding one’s enemies is not the Jedi way. So, Zymri will probably never detonate the Ewok’s explosives😂
Skora: A collection of paints (“They better not be poisonous,” Nox scowls at the Rodian)
Utooni: Something which the two Jawa brothers stole from Slingshot, but claim that it’s their own possession
Zymri knows Utooni is lying and as a Jedi padawan, he tries to return the stolen possession to Slingshot. Dizzy the ugnaught tells Zymri that he and Slingshot- his droideka- want him to have it, as long as they are credited as the ones who gave him this birthday gift, not Utooni
Glikkin: Something which the kubaz robbed from Balada the Hutt’s treasury, but claims that he purchased honestly
Again, Zymri knows Glikkin is being dishonest. Zymri attempts to return the stolen possession to Balada. But, the Hutt urges him to keep “Glikkin’s gift”, reasoning it would’ve collected dust in her treasury if it hadn’t been stolen

Nox: Family tickets to see Zymri’s favorite band in concert
Rieve: Although it clashes with her Sith/dark side persona, Rieve gives her son a present connected to the Jedi- a Jedi tome from Tenoo, a Jedi holocron from Batuu, etc.
After the gift-giving, everyone hangs out in the chow room for the rest of the evening until one by one, they return home. Zymri, Nox, and Rieve are the last ones to leave the Grand Arena
Returning to their bungalow, Zymri pulls out his seven-stringed hallikset, a gift from his parents for his sixth birthday, and plays and sings some songs before falling asleep🩵
Zymri’s birthdays are often similar to one another. Until his 15th or 16th birthday (I haven’t decided which) when Jedi Knight Rowan Freemaker, Jedi Knight Cal Kestis, and Padawan Avy Freemaker arrive on Vespaara to ask Zymri if he would be willing to give up everything he has known to become the one thing he has always desired to be- a Jedi…
Bonus!: This isn’t my official headcanon yet, but only on his birthdays, Zymri hears/perceives the Force as the “Happy Birthday” melody. I don’t know if that’s sweet or annoying!😂
