She was the littlest thing really. Barely reached passed his thighs. A quiet, budding flower nestled at Ana’s side with keen eyes that pursued her ‘prey’ behind her mother’s legs and a ghost of a smile that knew more than what other’s perceived.

It was needless to say that Gabriel absolutely adored her. 

So when he felt her wrap her arms around his leg, in her attempt to lift him, he teetered over, dramatically wringing his arms out for balance. “Whoa girl! Been eatin’ those greens I see.”

It flushed out a giggle that curled a soft smile from him, watching her as tiny little hands came to cup her mouth and the commander knelt before the girl, his eyes ginger, a contrast to the cold look that had taken them before. “Told ya they are good for you, but if you want to grow strong like this old man, you have to eat them more.” Much to her dismay. “So, what do you say we get you some sweets? C’mon It’s on me, kid.” And with that, disgruntled look begone, delight lit her eyes like caramel candies. He took Fareeha‘s hand in his and helped her up, one foot hopping from his folded knee to swing over his shoulder. She plopped down and he secured a grip on her ankles as he rose.

Their faces bright with happy smiles.
