y/n woke up late that day: she stayed up until 1am, watching her favourite movie with jaehyun. a smile appeared on her face as she recalled the night. she hated fighting with him, but both of them were always to proud to admit their mistakes (she had a very… explosive personality) but yesterday, when she rested her head on his lap as he played with her hair, everything felt right.

suddenly, she heard her phone ringing: it was yuta.

“hey, you know we are meeting up today right?” he said.

“yeah i know, i woke up late today, that’s why i wasn’t in policy analysis class this morning,” she responded while brushing her hair. “we’re going to that cafe near the campus right?”

“if you want to go somewhere else then yes, otherwise no. it’s sunny today, we can go outdoors, it would make working on this project so more fun huh”, the boy laughed.

“this isn’t even funny,” she rolled her eyes back. “this is exactly why i hate you”

“yeah i’m gonna pretend i didn’t hear that,” he replied, a smile in his face.

y/n took a deep breath, putting her pride aside. she had to thank him for taking her home and for making things a bit less harder for lucas.

“yuta?”

“yes? do you already regret saying that you hate me? wow, that 180 was really fast!”

she couldn’t see him, but she could picture his signature annoying grin. 

“you little shit wait until i see you i’ll—,” she paused and took a deep breath. again.”i just wanted to thank you for last time… and i wanted to apologise for causing so much trouble. i won’t bother you in that way again, don’t worry”.

“y/n i promise it’s fine, of course i was going to help you and your friend!” 

“lucas told me everything… i really embarrassed myself haha,” the girl awkwardly laughed.

“ah yes… he took care of that part, you have nothing to worry about,” he reassured her, his cheeks heating up. “i hope jaehyun and you are good now”

“yes yes we are. anyways! i’ll be ready soon. i’m gonna eat something quick before coming,” she said. “i won’t be late, but you know i can’t study when i have an empty stomach.”

“i haven’t eaten either! we can have lunch somewhere, then go to a park. i know this place that makes amazing foods!” 

“okay cool, let’s do that. don’t take me to a shitty place, i’m not sure if i can trust your taste in… well, basically everything,” she teased.

“kang y/n… write it down. it will be the BEST meal EVER.” 

“you’re so presumptuous, but okay, i’m giving you the benefit of the doubt. bye, see you later.” she smiled as she hung up.

on her way to uni, y/n thought that maybe nakamoto yuta wasn’t that bad, that maybe she didn’t hate being around him. things were better between the two and even if it surprised her that she could get along with that insufferable japanese boy, she was happy about it. the only problem was that jaehyun’s reaction was really confusing: wasn’t he the one who wanted them to stop fighting all the time? 

as she arrived on the campus, she quickly brushed off those thoughts.
