Shannon folded her arms, staring up at him with a frown and set jaw. “It’s not illegal.” She didn’t think, anyway. Was offering to pay someone to pretend to date you illegal? Ah, semantics. “A guy has been harassing me, and I told him that if he didn’t stop, my boyfriend would get upset. I’ll pay you to pretend to be my boyfriend. Maybe for a week or so. To just get him off my back.” Because if Shannon had to report back to Mark or Amber again, shit would hit the fan.

Johnny blinked his small eyes a few times in thought. “How much are we talking about?” He sighed, rubbing his neck, “I’m not going to pay for dates, either.” The redhead arched an eyebrow, waiting for the girl’s reaction so he maybe could continue is grumpy speech.

Shannon glanced obediently back over her shoulder, catching sight of the man in question, then turned back with a shake of her head. “No bloody way,” she grumbled to herself with a shake of her head, the English that escaped in her musing tinged with the accent of her home. When she spoke to him again, it was back to Korean. “He’s old, and creepy, and he’d probably try to feel me up. I have standards.” Besides, he was too old. “I’m not asking you to be my pimp. I’m offering you a real job.”

Johnny had to chuckle, internally agreeing with her words. He probably would try to feel her up, creepy guy. “What is it you want?” He asked right away hoping that she would just cut the crap and be just as straight as he was. “I’m not going to do anything illegal for you. You’re pretty but I’m not gonna risk.” Afterall, she could be an undercover cop, from all he knew.

Johnny moved his gaze from the street in front of him to the stranger who possibly had called him. With the face and hair, it was probably him, every damn korean would look at his face like they have never seen a redhead before. He arched an brow, his hands still stuffed into the side pockets of his jacket. “No, thanks. I’m not interested in selling whatever you have there. But that guys...” He pointed to a dude on the other side of the alley, “He likes those things.”
