New Scenario related to iPhone sales in India
While an I Phone still remains a status symbol in the phone market, the sales figures in India has dipped down in the fourth quarter of the holiday season of India. The dip (about 9%) is an all-time low when the overall sales figures of I Phone are considered. India has a 1.3 billion consumer base currently and is one of the hottest markets for Apple. However the California based company which was super confident about its mobile & gadgets market position in the past is now disturbed by some emerging favourite latest mobile phone brands of India.
The third quarter of the year in India brings in Diwali and Dusshera and Dhanteras; all big goods purchasing occasions. Apple has seen a surge in sales in all 3 occasions in the past but right now the companyās CEO Tim Cook reported a flat sales figure in the third quarter. Even Diwali bumper sale period has been unable to push sales.
Meanwhile Counterpoint Research, a leading Hong Kong research agency has released a statement through Neil Shah their research director. Shah says that the channel checks indicated good numbers for digital products in the quarter i.e. 700,000 to 800.000 units. However these numbers are far lesser than last year which showed about 1 million. Revenue dips in comparison to last quarter was revealed to be 7%. However the average selling price in I Phone has escalated due to the launch of the much awaited I Phone X. I Phone sales globally have also dipped by a marginal 1.24% according to techno experts from Techkurrent.
Not all is bad for Apple however as the company saw double digit growth this year. Mac computers and IPad tablets saw a surge in growth this year.
