Letâs play a game called âis this internalized misogyny or are my reasons for disliking this girl justifiableâ
some of the west wingâs views on current issues or another reason why you should watch this show
Then remember that this show ENDED 9 years ago. Think about where public opinion on much of this stood in 2006. Then think about where it stood in 1999, when the show first aired. (The West Wing is awesome. Watch it.)
âIâve resisted any temptation (of romance) because I donât think itâs right for Mulder and Scully,â says [X-Files Executive Producer Chris] Carter. âFor me, the passion and the protectiveness of one towards the other is something that we all admire and envy because that kind of trust and caring happens so infrequently in life. When it does, it is transcendent.â Carter says the relationship between Mulder and Scully has never been about sex or romance. It is the closeness between partners that most law enforcement types share that is at the center of their bond. It is also the closeness of two best friends, which in many cases can be as special and deep as a love affair. Tribune, November 1999

I am a positive person but I get really tired of aggressive optimism. If someoneâs sad, let them be sad. All emotions have purpose. Sadness isnât destructive if not prolonged. Sadness isnât unproductive, as it offers awareness. Telling someone to âcheer upâ or âbe happyâ is so ineffective and patronizing. The last thing a sad person needs is for someone to judge their feelings as pointless and unappealing. Welcome sadness, just donât let it consume you.
You can be anti black and not even know it..
On the morning of September 4, 1957, fifteen-year-old Dorothy Counts set out on a harrowing path toward Harding High, where-as the first African American to attend the all-white school â she was greeted by a jeering swarm of boys who spat, threw trash, and yelled epithets at her as she entered the building.
Charlotte Observer photographer Don Sturkey captured the ugly incident on film, and in the days that followed, the searing image appeared not just in the local paper but in newspapers around the world.
People everywhere were transfixed by the girl in the photograph who stood tall, her five-foot-ten-inch frame towering nobly above the mob that trailed her. There, in black and white, was evidence of the brutality of racism, a sinister force that had led children to torment another child while adults stood by. While the images display a lot of evils: prejudice, ignorance, racism, sexism, inequality, it also captures true strength, determination, courage and inspiration.
Here she is, age 70, still absolutely elegant and poised.
she deserves to be re-blogged.Â
sheâs so goddamned inspirational
this makes me want to cry

#1 is especially powerful
Remember: This is your partnerâs lived experience. And living as non-binary and coming out are often difficult experiences.
So telling your partner that their gender isnât real, that it sounds absurd, or that you donât believe what theyâre saying are all offensive and awful responses. Your partnerâs gender identity is for them to declare â and not for you to interrogate.
If your partner is coming out, believe them. If they are sharing something they have lived through, believe them.

Remember that movie in which Jack Black was a teacher and building a rock band and when a little black chubby girl asked to be a singer he only said âsure! let me hear youâ and the moment she started using her beautiful voice his lit up like all of his dreams came true, PLUS the same little girl was scared that people would make fun of her because she was fat and he started listing awesome singers with some weight on and included himself and told her that people wouldnât laugh because she is awesome at what she does and that is all that matters PLUS that itâs ok to enjoy food?
Also, when a little boy asked to be the bandâs stylist he just said âsure, go ahead fancy pantsâ like, there wasnât a single second of questioning it, he went into âok, that will be your position thenâ right away
That fucking movie is an hour and a half of Jack Black teaching kids to love themselves disregarding all of the stereotypes
I LOVE SCHOOL OF ROCK
if you racist you ugly case closed
i wonder if there is anyone nervous to talk to me.
basically the best feeling in the world is when you start to get really carried away talking in depth about your weird interests, but the person youâre talking to is actually intrigued rather than bored and they are impressed by how much you know rather than weirded out
person: why are you staying up so late when you know you have to be up early the next morning?
