This is because they ignore what Jesus actually said in favor what Number One Fanbro Paul had to say (”he who will not work should not eat,” 2 Thess.3:10), and they think that Fanbro speaks for Jesus when he absolutely does not, at least not in this particular instance.

I mean, Paul is the ultimate mansplainer. He didn’t know Jesus himself, never actually met the dude, but he told Jesus’s actual apostles that they didn’t know jack about him and that they were Wrong about what following Jesus was all about (Gal. 2:11-13), and then went on to create this entire fanon that people eventually took to be the word of God. It’s wild.

Christianity isn’t the church of Jesus. It’s the church of Paul.
