o yesterday we saw Blackberry come back to impress us and as many in the tech world said "to save itself"...it didn't disappoint!
From rebranding to simply Blackberry and ditching the RIM branding, to a new operating system and 2 new devices. The new operating system (Blackberry 10) is sleek, quick and has a bit of a learning curve to it as it is completely gesture based with no physical keys at the front for its current device; Z10. However, there is a physical QWERTY keyboard handset, Q10, coming around April. Unlike Blackberry's current Bold models, the Q10 will have no navigation trackpad or menu and back key above the keyboard.
We at Tekjunkie had a play with the engineer model of the Z10 before launch and have to say it wasn't far from the finished product. Most note-able features of the completed Z10 handset are LTE/4G enabled, 768 x 1280 4.2" display (355 ppi), 16 GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 64 GB using a micro SD card, an 8 MP primary camera capable of capturing 1080p @30 fps video, a front facing 2 MP camera capable of capturing 720P video, Dual core Snapdragon 1.5 GHz processor, 2GB RAM and all the standard proximity sensors. The battery will be 1800 mAh which will give it enough juice to last even in the most heavy Blackberry user's hands.
All in all a great looking product with an operating system which is different from the already saturated market with Android and iOS. The Z10 is available in the UK from now.
