A fun project for a friend I made. A pooh-bear onesie. Making a onsie/kigurumi for someone around 2meter tall was a challenge, but it came out really nice.

And as an extra gift a second corset I made in the meantime. Silk and lace
Ignoring the fact that I neglected my blog for year...here finally the finished photos.
Not a great photo, but finished with the flossing and really like it :)
Still trying to decide if I want this corset to be with blue or black lacing.
New Corset :)
Since I still need to make the Elfia photo’s smaller I thought a little preview on the corset I’m currently working on would be nice.
Admittedly I started on this corset over the summer, but all the events and the lack of proper boning had it on hold for a while. Now I’m inserting the boning and decided to give some ‘work in progress’ photo’s.
It’s a black 1880′s spoon busk corset. I used Norah Waugh’s corsets and crinolines for the pattern.
*I know...the photo’s are kinda crappy quality*
Marie Antoinette *finished
The marie antoinette dresses have been finished for a while now and we’ve worn them to two events already. this also means we already have some nice photo’s to show off the dresses.
The stays still need some improvement since they’re not as comfy as they should be, but other than that the costumes have been a great success.
First worn to Elfia Haarzuilen in april...Me and Sam went together and when we got there...surprise XD...Lisa was there! So we had lots of fun.
And second time worn two weeks ago to Elfia Arcen in the castle gardens...very nice scenery there to take lots of photo’s and I brought my own camera.
More photo’s in a picture update that I will do right after this one
......Or not since all the pictures take up way to much space so i’ll fist have to size them down a bit ....
*In hiding*
So...*insert awkward silence*...I kinda haven’t had time, or taken time, to update this blog in almost forever. Many things have happened, a couple of costumes have been made and things have been really hectic.
But after being in hiding for so long I decided to take a courage cookie and just start with some updates again.
Well, it’s been a while and as always it is super hectic at the moment, but I thought it would be nice to do a little update on a new project I’m working on for Lisa. And here are some of he photo’s we made while working on the pattern.
Since the entire suit is skin tight we decided to work with a tape base for the patern and than take that over onto paper for further use. As you can imagine it was lot of fun to tape someone in :). However getting it all onto paper afterwords was a bit of a challange.
Surprise! Another new corset. I worked on this one after my new busks and boning came in. Still have to season it and again crappie photos of self. This corset is a 21inch double boned under bust corset with a heavy duty busk. I already love it and can't wait to start with seasoning.
Finally my 1901 corset is finished!!! And including the garters. I kinda suck at making photo's of myself and I don't have enough lights in my room, so that's why it's so dark. But totally happy with it...I'll probably take a better picture later. Or ask someone to help take some. :)
Corset sidenote
Well, since I still have to wait for my supplies before I can finish my corsets...yes multiple...I though It would be nice to tell that I have expanded my costume library and I now also have the books; Corsets - Jill salen, The basics of corset building - linda sparks...which I got for my birthday :) and finally Corsets and crinolines...Funny thing is that the pattern that I have been using for my 1901 blue corset is also from this book. I love all my new books and plan on expanding my small (at the moment) costume library.
But once my supplies are in I will finish my corsets and post some pictures of the finished pieces.
Marie Antoinette update
Well...it's been busy as always with exams and next week the retakes, but I did manage to squease in some time to relax and work on the costumes.
So this week I went to my sisters place and we had already cut all the pattern piece from the fabric for her dress the week before and now we could start putting it together.
So above some pictures...Sam did almost all of it herself and I only helped with the pinning and the cape part of the dress, which her cat (joris - a.k.a. little moster) decided was an excelent slide and didn't need pins. so not only would he pick out the pins I put in, but also take a massive sprint through the room to slide the entire dress across the floor. *Don't worry no one got hurt, but joris did have to go into the hall for me to be able to finish working on the dress*
And this is how far we've gotten. Still need to fix the skirt at the sides, but that is going to be done next time. Here sam is just fitting it to see how it looks, without the stays. next time we'll work on getting the skirt attached to the body, now it's only pinned, and also the skirt that goes underneath the dress and the sleeves.
So far so good...
And now for my dress, a lot less, but I wasn't happy with the sleeves so I did some work on that and just trying out something different.
First I tried to make the original idea a bit shorter, but that doesn't really work (first photo above) So then I just did something different and I like it better...notice that this was more of a mock up so it still needs fixing...I'm thinking of doing the new sleeve with a decorative band along the seam where the elbow is. the same decorative band that I want to use on the rest of the dress, but I haven't found the right fabric jet. I'll also add some lace comming from underneath. these lace pieces used to be separate from the dress and worn just above the elbow.
And last but not least I worked om my stomacher for this costume. It still has a lot of pins and isn't finished jet, but it's a start. also I still have enough supplies to make a second.
1901 straight front corset...nearly finished. Still need to add the garters, but otherwise it is done. Hip-parts turned out slightly bigger than I expected so it is a bit big around the hips.
This is my 1901 s-line corset that I've been working on from time to time...and my first attempt at flossing :)
As promised some photo's of the fitting session with Sam...and the little monster (Joris Sam's kitten) who thought that the panniers were like a playground to climb into :)
