A Review of The Succubus Bloom by Altra Transformer

The works by the author Altra Transformer have always had a certain tone, well written stories and characters and the corruption aspects of all kinds are just so well told. While I do enjoy all of their works, when they turn their writing towards Succubi, there are some really quite unique stories told and they always delight me.

A mystery unlocked becomes the darkness unending. A choice made from lust and hunger unleashed turns towards erotic control and power. Among all of the darkness a flower blooms and grows, the seeds planted and spreading without end.
The work is an erotic fantasy transformation story with a succubus edge to the changes along with quite a bit of body dark erotica. Along with that comes a well told story, universe building that offers something amazing too. It is a dark story, there is death and destruction, but it isn’t there to be meaningless. The story brings purpose to the characters, their darkness and what comes from that.
The erotic aspects of the story mix well, both in the heat, but as well to take the story towards the impending transformations, darkness and changes in the characters themselves. In respect of the succubus theme, those erotic interludes I thought gave much needed like and detail to what happens to the main character and others she changes with her or uses for her designs. It’s all very hot and erotic from the first kiss to the last killing and it all makes sense and doesn’t feel out of place.
Aris, the main character of the work, undergoes a transformation in quite a unique way, the result being her becoming a kind of succubus, but not in the expected sort of way. That’s not to say she isn’t a succubus, for she is in power, form and presence, but especially her hunger and need. She is a schemer. a plotter and, eventually, vey much a force of evil with purpose. She isn’t one-dimensional or does something for the sake of it either and that made her a fare better character.
A number of minor and perhaps not so much so, characters are also transformed, some are used, some are taken and others become pawns in the game Aris plays. They have various personalities, some are thin, for they exist only a short time, but others have depth and they become important to the story as a whole. For all of these characters, they are succubi, of a kind, and perhaps a bit on the mysterious side of things, but with an erotic edge that I thought worked really quite well.
Four out of five pitchforks.
The story closes on something of a cliff hanger of impeding doom which works really well with tall that came before. I might have liked a bit more of Aris at the end, a little more finality for her than the story gave. As a corruption and transformation story it is really well done. The succubus aspects are as well captivating and the story delights throughout. Just a really telling read and I enjoyed it very much.
