This blog is purely about the game(s) i am working on if you are looking for my main blog @melo7904 then go for it (if you want information about me or other non-game projects then read that intro post)

This blog serves as a devlog blog for both The First Fractal (abbreviated to as TFF) and Mint and the Stolen Gems (abbreviated as MatSG, will also have stuff posted to my main blog)

ok so i have been basically making a lot of data based changes as well as making a crap tonne of sprites that serve as environment details and character sprites but have also been working on the HUD a bunch

the tumult's damage sprite - she probably has the most unique damage sprite show far since she is meant to be kind of a funny gal so her literally jumping up in their air like this hits with her character

move cards

move cards are items that allow you to learn specific moves (spells, attacks etc), they can be found around the worlds and have 3 tiers shown through their sprite, they also play into the elemental type system as most elemental moves are obtained through move cards

heres the new HUD its mostly just graphically updated from the old one to be more pixel consistent with the game's art style (since previously each pixel was actually 4 pixels), i also changed it from yellow to white to make the action icons stand out more (note this is a slightly older screenshot, i have updated the battle background to actually extend past the screen so it does not cut off on screen anymore)

I just realised I am the modern day equivalent of a rando making games in their basement on a IBM compatible just for the hell of it

so chat i havent replaced the player battle sprites in the windows version yet (for TFF)

yeah so you remember the whole "having to restart development thing" yeah, that was an absolute blessing in disguise so far i have been working on the main overworld map such as one of the new towns and cities being added: verdain city

it is to note that barely any assets are being carried over from the mac version to this new much more stable version (outside of the protagonist's sprites which will get updated later to look better but will remain mostly the same)

started working on a side game to better learn the engine i am using for The First Fractal

i do not have anything i can really say, and it wont get any dedicated devlogs, but what i can say is that it will release on windows, due to being made on a windows version of the engine in fact this side game was made as a direct response to the fact i have to remake the first fractal so it can actually run on windows god damnit the game is named "Mint and the Stolen Gems" (or MatSG for short)

small update

i am likely going to take a break from working on the first fractal this will probably last for a little bit this is because of school and some other projects ;) other then that i will be working on a "fix" for the game not being able to run on windows (its less of a fix and more what Minecraft bedrock is to Minecraft java as in just a whole ah recreation, this is so its more optimised and can actually run on windows) just for clarification i will still be working on sprites and music for the first fractal but the actual game itself is on hold

this is a part of a reworked version of valentina city i honestly dont have much for a full dev-log that isnt just me repeating myself about making assets and maps and the occasional sprite posting im also adding a forest area since i felt new leaf town and valentina city are too close to each other and it just seperates them a little more allowing them to not just mesh into each other
