Backstage, Lucifer lays on the ground on his back, panting. Hell sits above him, tenderly fixing his broken ribs and putting everything back where it should be. Its shockingly sweet despite what just occurred.

Blood still stained the wood, but it strangely started.. disappearing? Almost like it was evaporating into the wood.

*V1 whines in sadness as the blood disappears. Pathetically scraping it to no avail.*

Slowly, the curtains begin to open, revealing the stage. Its wooden floor is pristine despite the apparent shows that happen on it every week, with intricate designs carved into the wood. The backdrop is black, with intricate purple details, and a white canvas stood in front of it. The spotlights are primarily white, with some yellow and purple sprinkled in.

Gentle music starts playing, and a figure comes on stage, presumably Lucifer, dancing along. Hes clearly an archangel, though lacking the usual armour and robes most tend to wear. Instead, he wears a simple skirt, held up by some sort of eye pin. 2 twin scars glimmering pinkish purple lay under his pecs, curving up to form a heart right over where his actual heart lays inside his chest.

His wings, 4 on his back, 6 on his head, sway with the music, catching on air as he dances around the stage, no clear coordination yet graceful all the same. His 6 eyes are closed, simply enjoying the music.

Gabriel sat away from everyone, he stayed quiet to not draw attention to himself.

Watches the show. Eyes sparkling at his brother's dance. He's proud of him.

The machine watches closely as the curtains begin to open, clutching the revolver just in case. It seems to be more of a self-comfort than anything at this point, because the angel on the stage seems to be...peaceful.

"LU-//UCIFER ."

V1 mutters his name to Curiosity before they ask, trying to keep their volume low. They've met...once. Briefly. He didn't seem all that bad, but its always difficult for V1 to discern who to trust. Here and now though, the archangel simply seems like a graceful actor, peacefully dancing upon the stage.

They look around. Most other people seem calm. Even Gabriel seemed enraptured. Family, it supposes.

The machine...relaxes, only slightly. It still seems intensely suspicious, though its grip on its gun and the virtue in its lap relaxes just a little.

Everything is fairly calm for a moment, Lucifer dancing idly on stage, eyes closed and enjoying himself, some feathers coming loose and falling across the stage. It was almost peaceful.

Until what looked like a spear stabbed him right through one of his hands.

It must have fell from the ceiling, but it was so calculated that it couldnt have been an accident. Right through his palm, piercing through his flesh and coming out the other side. His 3 other arms continued their movement, with the pierced one remaining how it was when initially stabbed.

Yet, Lucifer showed no signs of pain. He didnt wince, cry, didnt even falter in his movement, just danced along to the song. Even while his blood dripped from his hand, pooling at his feet. Even when another spear dropped down, slicing through his other palm with ease. Even when the same happened for his other 2 hands.

Blood pooled around his feet, yet he didnt even slip. His eyes remained closed, head up, and body moving along to the music

*.... Now this is interesting....

V1 and V2 are completely enthralled, watching closely.

V1's wings twitch at the sight of blood, counting seconds before it could drip off the stage.

V2 was concerned. Was this an attack? Didn't seem so. Otherwise there would be a negative reaction on the actor's part. Was he in on this? Was he forced? She simply watched, unsure.

V3 was.... Scared? No. Fearful, yes. He knew something like this could happen. He watched Keygen closely, checking for its reaction. He would gladly get up and leave if it was too much. He did not care.*

*Oh! Oh.... Oh.

Keygen didn't know what to feel. That was... Something?

Why was the actor subjecting himself to such pain? Why would he want to show something like that? Was that all... Really part of the show?

He watched. His inner mechanisms hitching after each spear pieced though the angel's hands, he rubs his own hand as a phantom pain settles in.

Hm.... Not fun.

Still....

He couldn't stop watching....*

Slowly, every few bars, more and more spears appeared from seemingly nowhere, stabbing into his limbs and slowly pinning him against the giant canvas behind him. The spears in his hands are pulled out just to stab them through his palms and into the canvas. Blood spurts from his arms and legs, crimson pooling at the ground as spikes dig into his flesh.

His wings are pinned last, like a bug being pinned to create artwork, Lucifers wings are pinned in place through his flesh, blood soaking into the glowing purple feathers, gold slowly seeping in around the base of the wings.

LUCIFER-??

What the FUCK?!

Oh god-- that's disgusting--

Gabriel's thoughts are out of control, everyone screaming and shouting different things that made his head hurt so badly.

He couldn't move, he couldn't get himself to move.

He could only.

Keep.

Watching.

Then, a large spike, larger than all the rest, comes ripping through Lucifers gut. Blood sprays across the the stage, some dripping from the angels mouth.

For the first time the entire performance so far, he makes a noise. Its a pained whine, barely audible through the dripping of his blood hitting the wooden floor of the stage. Despite the sound, his wings glow a brighter gold, flaring out against where they are pinned.

Then, slowly, a figure comes on stage, goat hoofs gently clacking against the ground, singular eye focused on Lucifer and only Lucifer.

(*... the stars, the stage itself. Knosis watched, nothing within her eyes, melancholy and pain within her body. They waited. They watched. Hell Itself walks up to Lucifer, eye drinking in the sight of his body, claws gently scraping against the flesh of the heart marking.

Before digging in.

Blood and flesh splatter against the ground with a wet smack, pooling around Lucifers pinned body. His back arches in pain, yet his wings glow a mix of gold and purple. Once Hell reaches his ribs, they stop, and everything goes silent.

Then, a sickening crack echos throughout the auditorium.

Bones crack and snap away by Hells hands. One rib, then two, then three, until Lucifers heart is on full display for the audience.

Hell gently, more gentle than its ever been seen, takes xer lovers Heart, and speaks.

“L U C I F E R. M Y. L O V E”

“WHAT IS A STAGE WITHOUT ITS PLAY. A DIRECTOR WITHOUT ITS ACTOR. A MUSEUM WITHOUT ITS MUSE”

Hell gently brings Lucifers heart to its mouth, giving it a loving kiss, before pulling away.

“MY COMET. YOU ARE MY PLAY. MY ACTOR. MY MUSE. MINE. FOREVER MORE. MAY NOT EVEN DEATH DO US PART. MAY WE ALWAYS FIND EACH OTHER”

Before Lucifer can bleed out completely, Hell gently tucks his heart back in his chest cavity, and walks off the stage, spikes letting the angel go.

Lucifer stands on wobbly feet, looks towards the crowd, and bows. But not before locking eyes with Gabriel.

His face drops, and before hes able to get a word out. He drops.

And the curtain closes.

“THE PLAY IS NOW OVER. YOU ALL MAY LEAVE. OR VISIT BACK STAGE IF YOU WISH”

The lights are turned on, like nothing ever happened.

*Not a word more. V1 was already running to the backstage. Blood was known to rot fast after all...

He absentmindedly traces his own chest with his hand, looking for a scar that wasn't there. It has never been there. Still he traced.

He then looks up at Keygen, its visor displaying what looked like a gif of sparkles glinting.

Ohhh the urge to jump on that stage and show his own skills was eating him up on the inside. But he stayed in place, swaying slightly from side to side with the music. Perhaps he could record and try to form a choreography of his own for it sometime soon.

He smiled internally seeing his beloved being so interested in something and just finally getting to be with it outside of The Church. Perhaps they can do something fun after this show. The Church wouldn't mind, probably.

V1 was still feeling a bit loopy but having something else to focus on was kinda making it better.

It watched as that man danced on the stage, thinking. Of what? Not even it knew. Mindless processes. Probably trying to predict a next movement, mapping out body parts, crating battle plans, speculating strength.

It laughed internally, no match. So it kept watching. It would be fun.

V2 was actually just focused on the music.

Her mind was working tirelessly trying to figure out what notes were being played, what chords, which instrument... is it a DAW? Probably... The piano sounds fake.

She noticed the inverted nature of the music and her mind took a detour, figuring out how this song sounded if it was played "right".

She wondered if it would ever change.*

The hall continued on, posters only getting weirder and weirder. That was until the hallway split in 2, the unoccupied half sliding away, replacing with a smaller hallway, with 2 dark brown, wooden doors at the end.

The doors were huge. 12 ft tall minimum. The ceiling worked for this, as it didnt even exist in this portion of the hall. The walls just kept going and going until darkness blocked the view.

Gabriel has been silent pretty much the entire time so far. He hoped to continue falling into the background. He was still recovering from everything.

He sticks to the back of the crowd, walking slowly.

It stood in front of them, looking back momentarily at the crowd behind it before trying to carefully push them open.

Theres movement behind the curtain, but besides that theres no other sign of life.

*After the door was opened, V3 turned around to ask V2 if she want to get inside already and saw her with Keygen. He held back the urge to hug it due to V1 being on his back but still beeped happily at having it here as well.

He then gestured for the auditorium with his head. V2 just nodded quickly and followed him inside. They sat at the front row. V3 carefully sat V1 down and sad beside it.*

*Keygen seemed to brighten up as V3 noticed his presence, going in with the three Vanguards. He waited until they were all sat down and made sure to sit on V3's lap, warranting an annoyed sigh from V2 whom he ignored completely. He just wanted to sit with his beloved is all. It brought him comfort.

V3 did not complain either so what's the harm?*

“SPACE DOES NOT CARE FOR WHAT YOU THINK .”

At the very least, it wasn’t as bad now as it was when it was first here. But it looks back at the people, multiple versions of itself, different machines, angels, demons and people it’s never seen before—it’s truly just preparing for the worst.

It scuttles over to the furthest seat in the back, giving it the widest view of the theater and ensuring nobody could be behind it.

One curtain is gently drawn and a figure peaks out, admiring the large audience with wide eyes for a few moments, before hiding back behind the curtain and running off somewhere.

The ‘purring’ is…sort of calming. V1 is obviously still on high alert, but it curls up in the chair with its feet up on the seat, curled around the virtue but still holding them high enough so the could see.

“HELL MAY BE . BECKONING PEOPLE . OR THEY WERE BORED.”

It wouldn’t be surprised.

Immediately, the machine notices the figure, sights locking onto them quickly before they move away.

“…I DO NOT KNOW WH//-HO THAT. WAS . PERHAPS . AN ACTOR .”

*They look around, whirling on one heel in complete bafflement, before spotting... the stage to one side. And the huge crowd to the other.*

"... Well, somehow I doubt I'm meant to be apart of this play— namely because I never got a script..."

*The machine trods up one of the rows and sits up towards the top of the stairs— like it's watching for something. Maybe an actor, or... some movement behind the stage?*

Suddenly, a voice comes over the speakers.

“Everyone, please take your seats! The show will start in about 10 minutes!”

Slowly, the lights in the auditorium begin to dim until they are shut off completely. The doors that lead to the auditorium slam shut seemingly by themselves, and the only light is whats visible behind the curtain.

[*Curiosity flinches at the slamming of the doors, further burying themselves in V1's lap]

Is— is that supposed to happen—?

[*They look ahead to the stage, staring at the light]

...what's going on??? Is this what's supposed to happen???

"Yes, this is a theater. This is what happens when they're preparing for a show."

About 5 minutes pass before the voice comes back over the speaker.

“Quick warning before this show begins. I see many of you are unfamiliar faces, so just a fair warning, things will get very graphic. If your squeamish, I would recommend leaving or covering your eyes for most of this weeks performance!”

Some rattling can be heard over the speaker, and moving shadows can be seen behind the curtain.

“If you leave, then I thank you for stopping by, and best of luck and save travels to you! If you wish to stay, then please get comfy as the performance will be starting very shortly! There is also a donation box, and all funds go to repairing the upper layers, if thats something you are interested in!”

A spotlight shines down on a table sitting at the far left of the auditorium with a small box that reads “Donations!” on its front. The spotlight turns off a few moments later, and the speaker returns.

“Again, thank you all for stopping by! This is Lucifer speaking, one of your hosts and actors in tonights play!”

*V3 looked forward, then up, then around. Now that was surely something...

V1 just held onto him like a last resort. The constant influx of contradicting data made its systems feel overwhelmed and brought it a sensation that was almost identical to nausea. It was not looking good.

V3 decided it would carry V1 on his back for the rest of their stay on the layer. He was used to this kind of thing anyway.

You were all here for a show, whether invited, you saw a poster, were dragged here against your will or you are here for no other reason than to just be here, you are here, standing outside of a theatre all the way down in fraud.

The theatre was huge, posters lining the outside of upcoming shows. Most posters were incomprehensible, with words that didnt make sense and scenes that didnt follow reality, but really, what did follow logic in fraud?

Sunday night, the sky was dark with stars that lit up the sky (how was there a sky in fraud anyway?) in sparkling white dots. The theatre itself glowed from the inside, a gentle piano playing from seemingly nowhere considering the lack of visible speakers. Out of everything in the layer, the theatre was the only thing that at least tried to follow logic. Its halls, while wonky, didnt twist upside down on themself like other parts of the layer. They simply stood, waiting for visitors with incomprehensible posters lining their walls.

Inside, the lights shone a diluted yellow, most being off completely besides the ones around the front where popcorn, snacks and drinks spawned from seemingly thin air from a vending machine that clearly didnt belong in a theatre. The only other lights on were leading down the hall and towards a showroom.

Gabriel slowly walks in without armor. He's wearing a sweater, skirt, overall stuff he finds comfortable.

A glowing led sign suddenly turned on, appearing from seemingly thin air. The glowing words read “THIS WAY” in bright, blinking blues and reds. Every light began to turn off one by one soon after, slowly from the entrance to the back of the room. Every last light except for the show hall with the sign above it along with a few lights in display cases showing off various unrelated items, giving enough light to see your way around. A small eye similarly appeared on a wall, watching everyones moves.

(It tries to walk with some of the other machines, hoping that it doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb)

The machine is...tense. It is blunt sometimes, but not mean. It seems like being in this layer irks it badly.

"GOING . TO THE THEATER. HELL IS PUTTING ON A SHOW . I THINK."

It curls around Curiosity more as it passes the eye on the wall, hunching over them where it held them in its lower arms.

"....I AM NOT SURE WHAT SORT OF SHOW ."

Posters line the hall as you all make your way down. Most are completely incomprehensible, with phrases that mean nothing and completely random things on them. One shows an empty vending machine with the phrase “bring, your mine of κλίση”, while another shows 2 figures holding each other, titled “σύνοψη της αγάπης, telling fun games”. Every other poster was the same, random image with an even more random title or phrase.

The hall seemed to go on forever, posters beginning to repeat themselves and eyes showing up before blinking away. Yet, no door was seen.

*V1 was already starting to feel loopy. It hated the feeling of walking in circles and not getting out of wherein was. Ineffective. Ineffective. Ineffective. Ineffective. Its makeshift mind was starting to break.

V3 knew. He grabbed a hold of V1's hand, keeping it grounded as they all walked. The small machine lowers its wings and whines as it tries to stay as close as possible to its bigger sibling.

You were all here for a show, whether invited, you saw a poster, were dragged here against your will or you are here for no other reason than to just be here, you are here, standing outside of a theatre all the way down in fraud.

The theatre was huge, posters lining the outside of upcoming shows. Most posters were incomprehensible, with words that didnt make sense and scenes that didnt follow reality, but really, what did follow logic in fraud?

Sunday night, the sky was dark with stars that lit up the sky (how was there a sky in fraud anyway?) in sparkling white dots. The theatre itself glowed from the inside, a gentle piano playing from seemingly nowhere considering the lack of visible speakers. Out of everything in the layer, the theatre was the only thing that at least tried to follow logic. Its halls, while wonky, didnt twist upside down on themself like other parts of the layer. They simply stood, waiting for visitors with incomprehensible posters lining their walls.

Inside, the lights shone a diluted yellow, most being off completely besides the ones around the front where popcorn, snacks and drinks spawned from seemingly thin air from a vending machine that clearly didnt belong in a theatre. The only other lights on were leading down the hall and towards a showroom.

Gabriel slowly walks in without armor. He's wearing a sweater, skirt, overall stuff he finds comfortable.

If it could have avoided this, it would have. Let that be known for V1—Fraud was the last place it wanted to be again. But it knew if it did not come, it would have been dragged here by force. It supposed it was better to come by its own free will than anything. At least then it could be prepared.

The machine skitters in, already on high alert. It's not dressed fancy. Or ever dressed at all. But it is in fact clutching a bunch of coins. Do not let it start throwing those.

There are people here. What the Hell, do people actually come here to watch movies ?
