An important PSA to remember!
[ID in Alt]
its pedigree
"Little David", a 36-inch (914 mm) mortar meant for use against Siegfried Line and later for Japanese fortifications on the home islands
It fired a 3,650 lb (1,660 kg) about 8.7 km. The complete weapon weighed 173,000 pounds and traveled in two loads—an 80,000 lb (36,000 kg) barrel and a 93,000 lb (42,000 kg) base—hauled by heavy tractors and ready to fire in about twelve hours.
In comparison, the smaller caliber, but much more massive Schwerer Gustav was hauled on 25 railway cars and required three weeks to put in firing position, but had a longer range of 47 km (29 mi).
Little David was by caliber one of the largest artillery pieces ever produced, although Schwerer Gustav and Dora fired a much heavier shell. Little David's overall effectiveness would have been questionable because of its limited range and accuracy.
finally, i can have a deviantart signature on tumblr. the future is now

it is sort of crazy that electric car batteries are just big cubes of 18650's. It's like a child's idea of how you make a big battery. Stick a shitload of AA's together.

Recent satellite imagery shows that the Russians have installed anti-drone netting on submarines in the Pacific Ocean, over 7,000 km from Ukraine. Ukrainian drones do not fly that far yet, but it seems the Russians have simply decided to take extra precautions.
