Your character meets somebody new on the bus. His or her opinion about the person is changed by the end of the bus trip. How did this change occur?
I am on the bus... about to head out on my search for by brother Yaro... My grandmother could not assist me any further than the bus stop, so I am alone for this journey.
Two girls enter the bus and they look very confused. I would later know them as Ann and Zandra. Perhaps theyâve never ridden a public bus before? Someone should probably tell them what to do, because they look very lost... and they are standing in the handicapped section. Thatâs not proper educate...Â
Iâm not someone to step up and talk to strangers, so I will not be the one to tell them. I cannot help but stare at the situation though. People watching is something that interests me, since I wonât interact with them anyway.
Eventually the bus driver begins to yell at them:Â âYou two gotta get goinâ to the back of this bus, unless youâre handicapped,â
âOh thatâs what these seats are for?â Zandra asks.
âSorry about that, Mr. Busdriver! We didnât know the rules... weâre just a bit lost and looking for some friends...â Ann replies.
âWell youâd best get going before I start driving, kiddos!â he screams back. The two of them scurry to the back of the bus, near where I am seated. The only empty seat seems to be the one next to me... But my bag is there and I enjoy the extra space. I hope they do not ask me to move it...
Before I can think anything else, Ann looks over in my direction. Please, I do not want any human interaction right now... âExcuse me, can we sit here?â she asks. I donât know if sheâs asking me to move because there are two of them, but I instinctively stand up out of my seat and begin to walk into the aisle.
âY-yeah, go ahead...â I mutter, holding my book in my hands. Ann waves her hands at me. âWait I didnât mean for you to move! We can just share this seat or switch off who sits down,â she responds. It is too late now, I already stood up.
âI am fine... take the seat. I sit every time I am on this bus...â I admit. âYouâre so nice, thank you! Whatâs your name? Iâm Ann!â she excitedly smiles at me. I feel like this was a mistake now...
âI-Iâm Arianna...â I reply. Zandra looks over at me and smirks. âAnd Iâm Zandra,â she says.
âYou said you use this bus often, Arianna? Are you from around here then? Weâre looking for some friends and weâre not really sure where to start,â Ann begins to explain.
âYes, I am doing the same...â I reply without realizing that would bring up another dreaded conversation.
âYour friends went missing too!?â Ann blurts out. I look around nervously, hoping others are not staring at us for making a scene.
âJust my brother... we were separated at a young age, so I am heading to his house...â I respond.
âOh cool! And youâre traveling all alone?â Ann asks. The questions just keep on coming... and I do not want to be rude, so I keep responding.
âY-yes, my grandmother could not make the journey. This is the first time I am traveling alone,â I admit.
âThat sounds scary! We could come with you so that you donât have to travel alone!â Ann suggests. What have I gotten myself into..?
âOh, that may be too much trouble so...â I begin to speak, but she has made up her mind.
âOkay itâs settled, letâs travel together to look for all of our lost friends!â Ann places her hand on my shoulder.
âAnn are you sure about this? What about Amber and Murou?â Zandra asks.
âWho knows, maybe traveling around with Arianna will help us find them in the end!â Ann shouts.
âIf you insist...â I whisper. I suppose she is a bit pushier than I would have originally expected from her confusion at the beginning of this ride. Perhaps she means well, but I do not do well in social situations... We shall see where this takes us.
