You’re stranded on an island, who do you bring with you?

A radio to contact the authorities in charge of dispatching rescue vehicles. And Alastair to pass the time.

“I have no idea what you are talking about. Have you been in your own liquor cabinet?” 

“..tsk, of course you haven’t watched it.” he scoffed humorously. “Don’t panic --we can make a movie night of it. Do you like your popcorn sweet or salty, my dear?”

“Well that’s what the collar says, ain’t it? Makes sense that’s what I was named, I guess.” He informed, following the professor’s gaze to his collar before he blinked, and reached his hand back to grab it. “Oh! This! This isn’t from here. I read the letter and everything, I thought it was weird everybody was a hellhound when I first got here! But it turns out I haven’t met any other hellhounds and the collars are for a different reason. I can still use my powers.” He talked a mile a minute with a childlike glee, as if even the prospect of slaves hadn’t properly thrown him off his seemingly unwavering optimism. “I mean if we’re being technical my name’s Zero. But Master named me Buddy, so Buddy I continue to be.”

He was pacing now, after breaking the handshake, full of energy he couldn’t quite contain. “Nice to meet you Alistair! You smell weird.” He stopped, sniffing the air again and nodding to himself in confirmation. “Yep. oh oh wait I can guess! uhhhhhhhh….” he stopped, crossing his arms over his chest for a moment and creasing his brows in thought. “Aha! Demon! I’m right. I know I’m right.”

Well, this one was a cheerful one, was he not? Quite eager too. Alastair was certainly going to have to stop on his tracks to try to figure him out..or at least slow down, his smile stretching further as the other male went on to answer his inital question. “Of course.” he chuckled, now responding to some of that glee with his own. “-hellhound...fancy seeing one of you here. It’s been a while, even for me.” Amazing, he was. And he didn’t have much of a clue of where he was yet..what possibilities lay ahead, and of course he was really set on whatever customs had been ingrained on him in the outter world. “In that case, I shall call you Buddy, as long as that’s preferred?” Zero, Buddy..it didn’t matter all that much, so why not let the boy pick.

Stopping at last, and leaning back only slightly as the other dove in to sniff back at him, Moore felt very tempted to give him a good ruffle but didn’t. “It’s Alastair, with an ‘a’. And oh?” His own hands slipped into his pockets, still smiling. “..Almost. I’m half-demon, technically, but it’s rather flattering you’d think so. Such a good boy you are, mh?”

“Can I help you, love? Perhaps there’s something you want to know about this place?”

"..well, it changes. Right now I'll take an early noon cocktail somewhere high above the ground, like a tall building. Some music, some casual touching to keep both parties interested..and the rest will figure itself out."

Dog Days || Open

Zero couldn’t imagine how this place could get any better. He’d already deposited his meager belongings in his new dorm, which was nearly twice the size of the apartment he’d shared with Miss Marvel and Mr. Riordan and all their friends, and was now exploring the campus, following his senses around the courtyard to examine the sights, sounds and smells surrounding him. It was a world a thousand times more glamorous than anything he’d ever seen in Atlanta or the roadtrips he’d taken with Master in their time together. “Dang, this place makes me feel like I won the lottery, if only Mar could see me now, I should send ‘er a letter or somethin’ about my studies… Oh shit my books!” His class books. He’d forgotten them at the airport, distracted by the smell of a Cinnabon and a sidetrack to beg from the patrons for a treat, though that was… largely ineffective as a human. He frowned, reaching up to scratch the skin under the edge of his collar, “Buddy” emblazoned on the scraped, dirty tag.

“Well, that’s a bit of a blow t’ the mood.” he muttered, accent drawling as he examined the phone he’d been given when he arrived. “Maybe if I message somebody they can get me new cop- Oh my god! Hi!” His concern was washed away as someone made the mistake of passing by, the towering man falling into step with them and sticking his hand out in greeting, practically wiggling out from under the flannel and trucker hat he was wearing out of excitement. “It’s nice to meet you! Hi! I’m Buddy!”

For the past week or so, Alastair Moore had mostly stayed clear off campus. It wasn’t just that there happened to be holidays, of all things, but that he had just returned from one of his ..ever so (un)successful little trips to seek the one who didn’t wish to be found. And it came without saying that his resulting mood wasn’t the best, but perhaps this next ecounter would change things slightly. Hopefully so.

As he turned the corner on his way back home, the half-demon was promptly ambushed, the other males’ shrill voice causing Alastair to raise an eyebrow at first, until he detected the whiff emanating from him. Who the hell was this? “Oh..” he huffed, mostly at the hand offering..which he took after a pause, now starting to be kind of amused as well. “Alastair --pleasure. Is your name really ‘Buddy’?” The professor asked, acknowledging the collar with a look.

“We can always hope we are as lucky as that Sparrow character and find somebody’s stash there? That does sound quite fun.”
