*Tickles you*
“Rey!” She giggled and places her hands over his. “So mean…”
Giving her a rather charming smile, the dreamweaver adapted a rather innocent look. “Me? Mean?” He chuckled low for a moment before silkily adding, “I could never be mean. It’s not in my nature, nor my bones.” Pausing, he airily waved a hand. “Thankfully, my tentacles don’t ‘ave bones.”
She rolled her eyes but smiled. “You’re lucky you’re handsome…” She wrapped her arms around his neck and gave him a kiss. “So…why the unexpected visit?”
Kissing both of her cheeks in return, he couldn’t help but show how pleased he was at the compliment. He simply glowed. No, really. The patches on his body shimmered, pulsing with iridescent light.
“I use my good looks to my advantage. And you wonder ‘ow I ever got so far in my old life.” He winked at her. “Ooouh, well, I just wanted to drop in, and see ‘ow you were doing. ‘ave you been sleeping well, Fae?”
That seemed to be a trademark greeting of sorts. Always worried that people weren’t sleeping well, weren’t dreaming.
“I think you already know the answer to that…” The truth is she hadn’t been sleeping well. Usually he would visit her dreams more but, they have been absent for some time.
“But maybe you can help with that.”
“No dreams. Ah.” The Dreamweaver shook his head. This wasn’t good. People deserved dreams. Good dreams! Even if they didn’t remember them upon waking, their subconscious would. And Fae deserved wonderful dreams.
“Per’aps it’s time I gave you a good dream. I ‘ave been slacking.” Sheepishly he rubbed the back of his neck, his claws harmlessly scratching at his skin. “I ‘aven’t checked on a few people. I’ve fallen behind.”
“Don’t feel too bad…you know I’m a lost cause.” She rest her head against his chest, enjoying the feeling of his skin against her cheek.
“But if you have the time…I think I would love a dream with the two of us in it.”
"You are not! You’ve never been a lost cause.” His expression grows considerably soft, his voice fond. “Humans aren’t. Humanity isn’t. Humanity is beautiful. Full of potential. No one is ever a lost cause, Fae.” Tapping her nose with a single claw, he smiled wide. His bright eyes were a cosmic swirl of color and energy.
A dream. She wanted a dream. Of course he’d oblige. He was a Dreamweaver. His job was simple: weave skeins of dreams for the mortals of all the known realms. He was proud of his job, and as such he’d do that. He’d sculpt a dream just for her.
“Of course. Your request is reasonable, and feasible.”

You sing so... beautifully. I can hear you, even from where I am now. Deep in meditation... I can hear you and I can see you. I can see how the firelight dances on your face. You look so tired, but you look... at peace.
Play another song for me, please. Sing another one. Your voice is so wonderful. Your voice is sweeter than all the dreams I could ever weave. It makes me happy seeing you in such a way.
I will do everything in my power to make this year good for you. You deserve it. You deserve much more than what life has dealt you. It’s a shame. Fate can be so cruel. I can’t do anything to reverse your curse... but I can at least ease your suffering. Even if it’s only for a little bit.
Sing to me, darling. Just one. Just... one more time.
Ooouh, look at zhe sky. Fireworks remind me of paintings. But...they are like paintings in motion. Living paintings. Constantly changing, constantly morphing. Glittering jewels in zhe sky, exploding, bursting.
I ‘ope everyone sleeps well tonight. May you be blessed with only zhe happiest of dreams.
...Ooh. Oh, dear. Someone’s having a nightmare. Someone I know. I can feel it.
Will the Great Attractor Destroy Us?
Somewhere, in the deepest reaches of the cosmos, far from the safe confines of our home galaxy, the Milky Way, lies a monster. Slowly, inevitably, it is pulling. Over the course of billions of years, it draws us and everything near us closer to it. The only force that acts over such immense distance scales and through cosmic periods of time is gravity, so whatever it is, it’s massive and unrelenting.
We call it the Great Attractor, and until recently, its true nature has been a complete mystery. Note that it’s still a mystery, just not a complete one.
The Great Attractor was first discovered in the 1970s when astronomers made detailed maps of the Cosmic Microwave Background (the light left over from the early universe), and noticed that it was slightly (and “slightly” here means less than one one-hundredth of a degree Fahrenheit) warmer on one side of the Milky Way than the other — implying that the galaxy was moving through space at the brisk clip of about 370 miles per second (600 km/s).
Even though astronomers could measure the rapid velocity, they couldn’t explain its origin.
