  Harleen had heard a lot about this kid, naturally. This was the new kid so rumours were bound to fly. She knew the truth though. The poor boy’s parents had just been murdered in cold blood, and she knew how kids were already  picking on the poor boy as if he was fresh new meat. "Harleen Quinzel." She smiled sweetly. She assumed he hadn’t any friends and couldn’t bare to see him eat lunch alone. "The kids at this school are animals and the caf line will already be a mile long. I’m going out to get pizza. Wanna come?"

Wow! She was much nicer than most at this school. Bruce flashed her a genuine grin and nodded. "Nice name, Harleen. Yes, that would be pleasant,'' he told her, already looking forward that pizza. He didn't think he'd be eating with someone seeing how the others were either mean or simply avoiding him. "Where are we going?" he asked, wondering how long they'd have to walk. 

As he made his way to his locker in order to drop his books, he remembered something. "Hey, aren't you on the school's newspapers this week?" he asked with a smile, curious about this Miss Quinn.

He could ask her how she knew him, but that would be futile as his parents' death had made the news.

Bruce was walking down the spiral stairs to get to the cafeteria. The bell had rung lunch time and truthfully, he was starving. On his way, he bumped into a blonde and couldn’t stop himself from apologizing. He crouched and picked up her books that had fallen onto the floor.

"I am so immensely sorry, miss!"

Harley was in no particular rush to get to lunch. Usually being a straight A student, on student counsel, captain of the cheer leading squad and being in extra gymnastics didn’t leave her much time to even remember to eat. Though, she was fairly calm today and wasn’t really bothered when her books got slammed to the ground. "Oh no, please. It’s not a problem." She too went down to pick up her books. "Hey…I recognize you. You’re Bruce Wayne."

"I swear I'm sorry!" he kept on going on until he heard her speak his name. He stopped for a while and stared at her, wondering if she was going to mock him like those guys did. This time, he couldn't hit a girl... Not that he'd want to. 

"Yes, I am. Nice to meet you. What's your name?" he asked, titling his head to the side to observe her better. He didn't know much about this school since he was new, but she looked pretty... much popular.
