Sorry for crappy activity! I had to get up at 2 this morning and am struggling to stay awake. It’s going to be like this for the rest of the week so I don’t plan on being able to do drafts. And my birthday is friday and have a mandatory thing sunday, so hopefully if I’m not dead saturday I will get drafts done on this account.

THE NEW YEAR always brought with it the promise of new anything else. And it being his senior year meant that there were, for the first time in his memory, no older brothers to judge him. No perfect older brother who left entirely-unrealistic expectations for him… no less-than-perfect brother who had already done anything that could be done. He was, finally, free of prying eyes ( save a particular little sister who was, more or less, leaving him alone ). He looked up at the impromptu introduction before glancing down at the jersey he was wearing. Basketball was one of the very few activities around the school that didn’t have his family’s print on it. And while he may not have been wholeheartedly enthusiastic for it when he’d started his freshman year, the outlet had been good for him. He’d always had more nervous energy than he could account for; acting out more often than not. “I wonder where you’d find a basketball player,” he replied, flashing a wry smile, pausing a moment before giving the boy –– Lucas’–– hand a shake. It wasn’t every day that his family’s reputation did not follow him into every single interaction he had. “If you’re that interested, there’s a pick-up game after classes. Nothing really starts till October for pre-season, but…” Kol paused, raising a brow. “It’s always good to know whether someone’s got any talent before getting our hopes up.”
eyes scanned the hallway for a moment, still learning his way around the place and familiarizing himself with the area. he hadn’t been around long enough to know any particular names or what this town held, but he already had an odd feeling about it. but he found every small town carried something around with it. nodding at the words. ‘i’ll be there.’ words were light and said with a short smile, he hadn’t played since he left one tree hill and couldn’t wait till he got his hands on a ball--- even if it was unknown territory with guys he had never played with. ‘then you’re in for a good show, i plan on being a starter.’ lucas made sure his remark had a hint of a playful tone to it. he had already rubbed a basketball star the wrong way once, didn’t need to do it again. but his competitive nature always shined through anything else. and the one thing he could always vouch for were in skills on the court.
her best friend’s annual KISS ON THE LIPS party was this weekend and she was left with the task of inviting as many people , or in blair’s words– the RIGHT people to the party. she has completely forgotten about the invites until blair reminded her earlier today. a party thrown by one BLAIR WALDORF and an appearance by serena van der woodsen and the rest of manhattan’s elite ? nobody could say no to that. ‘ well , you’re cute.. here—- ’ she placed the fancy invitation in front of him , blocking the book he was clearly engrossed with. ‘ i’m SERENA , and i hope you can come. ’

eyes scanned the pages, racing through each line. taken out of the real world and encased in the one in front of him. abruptly brought out of it by the sheet of paper slid in front of his pupils, causing his gaze to look up and at the blonde standing in front of him. ‘i get that a lot,’ offering a slight playful remark as an introduction. taking the letter in his hands, eyes scanning it. ‘i’m lucas, and i’m sure i can drop by,’

‘you deserve better.’ words were first whispered. lucas scott came down to sit on the bench next to the fellow resident. the blonde haired man’s gaze fell onto lexie. ‘he’s not good enough for you,’ words parted through his lips, jaw line tensed. words fell silent for a moment wondering if this ordeal was worth it, if she could possibly be feeling the same attraction as him. although he didn’t want to find out, leaning forward a hand came up to cup the side of her cheek and bring her into a long held in kiss.

‘i am telling you, carter. she hates me. it’s not all in my head.’ lucas pulled of his scrub top, shoving it in the locker. hands drew up to grab a thin grey shirt and slid it over his torso. after the day at work he was convinced his girlfriends mom had it out for him. eyes drew up and fell onto her gaze, stepping forward and wrapping his arm around her, placing a small kiss against her cheek. ‘what do i do?’

lucas arched his brow and was about to comment but decided not to. he wasn’t one to care about social hierarchy, but it wasn’t nicer in Tree Hill to be at the somewhat top rather than the ultimate bottom. ---- complexion of confusion and disappointment search his face at her words. ‘what kind of secrets?’ he asks out of pure curiosity, despite never being one to gossip much.
