A Secret Worth Sharing
February is upon us, and the weather has been kind. Though its been a cold January the snow has kept to a minimum and for this we are grateful. We've taken some time to reflect on the past month and one comment seems to have come up more than any other when meeting customers in our retail store, “I didn't even know this place existed”. We have come to realize that this is a popular response for our first time customers and we are like an oasis in the retail desert. In order to help more people find our pool of savings to quench their thirsty budget, we would like to call upon our faithful followers to help us form a search party(let me know if I'm taking this metaphor too far). The Big E is issuing a challenge to ourselves and we need your help to conquer the mountain we have set before us. We are currently present on many social media outlets, however our challenge this month is directed at the Facebook community. There exists a certain sense of accomplishment from hitting certain milestones on our Facebook page, and the goal we have set our eyes on for February is to make it to 500 Likes. Throughout the month we will be making daily posts that are intended to both inform and entertain. We will be posting photos, quotes, anecdotes, memes and anything else we can come up with. Read carefully because the next part is where you come in. We only ask that you would like and share our posts with your friends, relatives and maybe even your enemies. It's a simple action that will help us significantly. Here at The Big E we strive not only to run a successful business but to create a sense of community within our walls, will you join with us and help grow that community?

Saturday marked the end of another great Firearms Auction where there were over 400 lots consisting of handguns, shotguns, rifles, ammunition and a variety of accessories. Waiting In Anticipation
New Year Happenings at The Big E! It's been another busy week here at The Big E. Glen is in Las Vegas at the Shot Show and attending an alpaca auction at South Point, as well. We are eagerly awaiting his return so that he can fill us in on all the newest products and insights he's picked up at the show. Since the business of firearms, as you know, is always a hot button issue, all things related to it are in constant motion. So we are always there on the scene to keep ourselves and you current. Please be sure to keep an eye on us over the next few weeks so that we can fill you in on all the newest happenings in the industry. We will update you via our website or when you visit the store.
In Glen's absence, our good friend Ray Long has been keeping watch over the Gun Shop, and it has been a great treat having him here. Whether it's a tale of his time in the Air Force or reliving stories from his days in the firearm's business, Ray always finds a way to capture the attention of both customers and staff members alike. We have been very fortunate to have him here with us this week. Though we will miss seeing him every day, we will look forward to his frequent visits.
Also very exciting this week is the introduction of our online retail listings. Now we all know that nothing beats coming in and experiencing The Big E in person (If you haven't yet made the trek to Fort Erie to see us up front and personal, take it from me, it will be well worth your while.), but there are some days when you just want to find out what the features are and what's new and exciting without leaving your home or office. The start of 2016 brought with it the launch of our online Gun Shop for all of your firearm, ammunition and accessory wants and needs. The Gun Shop is also optimized for mobile viewing so you can shop on the go as well. We wanted to give our customers a similar convenience regarding our Retail Outlet, thus the birth of our Retail Outlet Page. Start packing up the tree, throw away the wrapping paper, and prepare for a month of leftover turkey sandwiches. Christmas is over but the New Year is coming, and with it there is much excitement. "The Night Before New Year's Eve" Auction is ending this week, just in time to ring in 2016. There are loads of great deals on all sorts of sporting goods and athletic equipment, as well as a few little surprises here and there. Christmas is in the Air
The tree is ablaze with lights, Christmas music is playing in the Liquidation Centre, and I can faintly hear the sounds of Domenic the Donkey coming from the office. That's right, Christmas is almost here! Although our Christmas countdown of Auctions ended last week, there's no reason to fret. Our auction elves have been hard at work making sure we have plenty of lots ready for our "Night Before New Year's Eve Auction". That's right, we wanted you to have a way to avert your eyes from Uncle Bernie's ugly Christmas sweater. This particular Auction is a little bit different than normal. Instead of closing on a Sunday like our other Auctions, this one is going to close at 6pm on December 30th, which is a Wednesday. Our "Night Before New Year's Eve Auction" is a great mix of athletic gear from Dick's Sporting Goods, and Academy Sports. It's official, there's only ONE more Auction until Christmas. The countdown may be winding down but we're still wound up on all of the saving to be had. A Season Jam Packed With Excitement
On The Block Monday December 7th
The start of another week means a new blog post, and a new blog post means I get to tell you all about the excitement here at The Big E.
First and foremost is the Grand Opening of our new Liquidation Centre. Mike and Geoff have been hard at work getting the store organized. Now all of the great deals you love from our auction are available on site. We are open to the public and want to meet you. So come on down to the store at 570 Industrial Dr. In Fort Erie and meet Glen and the gang and get some great deals in store. We have sporting goods, furniture, groceries, tools and apparel. Great brands like Under Armour, Nike, Adidas, North Face and more. It's looking great in here, Come and see for yourself.
Glen made his way to the Orangeville Gun Show this past weekend, and had a great time. After scouring the show, and wheeling and dealing, we are happy to announce that there will be 84 Firearms added to our inventory this week, so keep your feelers out for those as they go up on our website. Glen found a beautiful assortment of rifles, shotguns, and handguns.
Live this week and now open for bidding is our Dicks Sporting Goods Auction. Lots of great deals to be had in this event. We have football, hockey, field hockey, lacrosse, tennis, fitness, and so much more. Brand name products that will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Registration is easy just go to the “Current Auctions” section of our website to get get registered and get in on the auction.
Throughout the month of December we have been doing our own version of a Christmas Countdown. Remember there are only 2 more auctions until Christmas. Don't wait, get in on the Auction and save money on gifts this holiday season.
