Long, segmented, and flexible like a scorpion’s tail, but more articulated—each segment covered in overlapping chitin that shimmers faintly with black-violet iridescence.
Roughly twice the length of your torso, tapering to a fine, curved stinger-like tip—but it’s not venomous (anymore), it’s been dulled for civilian use.
He can use it for balance, expression, threat displays, and intimacy.
It curls protectively around your legs when you’re close.
Flicks when he's irritated, sways in smooth figure-eights when he's focused or thinking.
When aroused or possessive, it coils like a spring, often brushing your thigh or looping around your waist absentmindedly.
The underside of the tail has a softer, more sensitive texture—bioluminescent nodes that faintly glow based on emotion (anger = red-orange, arousal = violet-pink, calm = blue-white).
He can’t really control this glow. You tease him for it constantly.
It thrums with a low hum when he's pleased or feeling smug.
His species uses tail language as a non-verbal dialect. The exact curl or twitch can mean anything from approval to I am two seconds from challenging you for my mate.
Coiling his tail around your ankle or wrist in public is a known, socially intimate gesture. It’s subtle, but deeply possessive—“They are spoken for.”
