On a side note… Am I the only one that noticed that Tumblr is mixing up my pictures? When I select many of them from my computer, they keep having their order changed. I have to select them one by one to have the proper order.

Here I let them in a random order, it doesn’t matter much (plus it makes some nice comparison, like pictures 6 and 7 that mirror each other and make a before-after), but other times it is quite annoying…

I reposted about this specific weight gain of Moose around the same time I commented about how fat his character was in "Archie's Weird Mysteries"... Yet I never considered that maybe, just maybe, Moose's larger size here might be a nod to his tubby-self in the cartoon? I am not certain at all, but when fat-Moose trains in his white shirt he looks a lot like his cartoon-alternate-self (see below)

It was my first (and currently only time) buying a comic book at Comixology (at the time where I could still buy stuff online with a guilt-free mind).

Well, after all this time, I only realized on the Comixology app you could actually zoom in to have each panel in high quality and filling up the screen. A wonderful tool, if you ask me.

As a result I decided to repost the panels showing Moose’s weight gain. You can see better for example, in picture 8, how Moose actually started to put on weight, with a bloated middle section, right before becoming full-fat.

Issue 12 of the Kevin Keller! comic book.

In this “New Year”-centered issue, the protagonists decide to take early New Year resolutions they will have to hold until said New Year - and those who manage to keep their resolution until New Year get one month of free food at Pops. Kevin’s resolution is to resist his only weakness: chocolate. He denies eating “more chocolate than Jughead eats burgers”, but as he says so, he is pointed out that right now he is eating a chocolate sundae while drinking hot chocolate. (By the way, Jughead’s resolution is to stop eating burgers). Jughead immediately takes Kevin’s plate to finish it for him.

Later, Jughead tempts Kevin by showing him a “Fudgie-Wudgie” candy bar before eating it in front of him. As a result, Kevin decides to eat an enormous burger in front of Jughead: a “Triple Decker Artery-Clogger”, with six layers of beef, cheese, and bacon. (This honestly could be a wonderful weight gain scenario, the two boys stuffing themselves on chocolate and burgers to annoy the other one, and ending up gaining weight because of it.)

Kevin has a very hard time resisting chocolate’s call because it is everywhere: his mother bakes chocolate chip cookies, his sister offers him Christmas chocolate fudge done by his grandmother, and the television shows advertisements of for “Choco-rama bars”. He eats marshmallows to quench his chocolate-thirst, but it is not satisfying enough and leaves him grumpy.

In the end, he devours a chocolate donut before the official New Year - but it is for a good cause, to help him regain his strenght helping to fix a malfunctionning machine.

When shall we get some nice Kevin stuffing or better yet, some Kevin weight gain?!

Actually, it is funny that Moose in his more recent incarnations is shown as a pure muscle-man obsessed with a healthy lifestyle and building muscle. Because some of his previous incarnations were rather tubby.

Like when he appeared in the cartoon “Archie’s Weird Mysteries”. There he was a true musclechub. Insist on the “chub” part. Most of the time his torso is just large, with only the stomach area bulging and the rest being quite flat - showing that he is just a meaty guy, with huge muscles and arms, but also a big stomach and a round baby-like face (a very round one).

But sometimes he is drawn as really fat, with a completely round stomach and a pair of manboobs. Look at picture 8 - it is the fattest I ever saw him.

All these screenshots are from the episode “Brain of Terror”. I actually don’t know if Moose appeared in other Weird Mysteries episodes, given that he isn’t a regular and more of a secondary/background character. If you know of other appearances of fat Moose or musclechub Moose, please warn me!

Three Jughead stuffings

The first one is from the story “Burnt Offering” in the 228th issue of Archie Giant Series Magazine. Jughead stuffing himself with a delicious Christmas dinner, ending up with a belly so big his shirt can’t cover it and his belt is popped open.

The third one is from the story “Cold Reception” (again, Archie Giant Series Magazine, issue 496). Another case of Jughead stuffing himself and ending up with a big belly.

As for the second one… I hesitated a bit because, while it is a more realistic stuffing/bloating… I don’t know, it felt a bit “not enough” compared to the other two. But, oh well, that’s Jughead and that’s a funny plot: Ethel, still trying to seduce Jughead, buys him a lot of food. The others think it is to “turn him on”, aka take him by the stomach. But the truth is more pragmatic: Ethel does that to stuff him, and slow him up if he ever tries to escape. (From the same issue as above, Archie Giant Series Magazine, 496)

There's so much Jughead stuffings I think it is impossible to record them all, unless someone prepares a very VERY big page...

Also from “Jughead and Archie Comics Double Digest” issue 11.

In the story “Cuisine Scene”, Archie ends up gaining weight. We don’t see it however - he doesn’t get really fat, doesn’t get a belly and doesn’t look different. But it is still a good “canon” weight gain material.

It all starts when Betty, to win her “Archiekins”, decides to cook him a lot of food - enormous dinners at night, with “leftover goodies” for lunch, which makes him stuffed, bloated and sick. Veronica, jealous, tries to play the same game and also invites Archie to dinners at her house, where she serves him a huge feast while she eat nothing (because she has to watch her diet). (Actually, at this point Archie looks a little bloated - third panel of the third page).

This constant over-eating due to what Archie calls a “cooking competition” quickly takes its toll - the coach of his team finds out that he gained weight, and tells him that if he doesn’t lose five pounds by Friday, he will be kicked out of the team.

Archie finds the solution by inviting Jughead to share his meals at the girls house, and while they are not looking putting all of his food in Jughead’s plate.

The two first pictures are from the first story of the issue, “Don’t be rash”. In this story, Archie notices that Jughead constant consumption of junk food (pizzas, sodas and chips mostly) ended up making him gain a bit of weight (”You’re looking a little paunchy in the middle there” as Archie says). Archie encourages Jughead to do exercise, but the glutton refuses, saying sports give him rashes.

And it is proven true, as Archie drags Jughead to the gym, to the pool, to go jogging, and every time Jughead develops a nasty rash (the way it is drawn, though, it looks more like bruises).

At one point Jughead develops one on his belly, so he lifts his shirt. Archie, instead of being impressed by the bruise, rather says “Your gut’s bigger than I thought!”

The third picture is from the same issue, just later, beteen two stories. We see Jughead dream about his ideal foods (the biggest, heaviest, unhealthiest food you can think of, like candied apples on a foot-long hot-dog or sundae on sausage pizza) - and later Jughead, bloated, stuffed and sick after eating said dream foods.

And above you can see the effects of the “Inflation Intensity”. It turns people into yes, huge balloons, or floating balls, inflating them with the “power of the pressure”.

Note that, as I said before, not only are all their minds connected at once, but they also have the “psycho-sexual energy” of this inflation channeled and used… which seems to mean they are quite enjoying it. In a… well, sexual way ;)

I personally do not like at all this instance of inflation - it is a good example of how, back then, I frenetically posted about everything I was suggested or given just "because", even stuff I didn't quite like... But I will keep this one because I know some people are into this specific kind of "ballon body", especially with the super-heroes outfit which can highlight the effect. I can see why it would appeal to some people, even though it is not much my taste. (Or it might have been my taste had there been some intermediary stages)

This blue-haired guy is Gertrude’s father.

In issue 16, Gertrude thinks at one point that she is back home - she wakes up in her room, with her parents, in real life, and she has a family breakfast and she is the happiest in the world.

But slowly, her parents starts devouring repulsively huge amounts of food, while serving Gertrude huge plates and forcing her to eat - they slowly turn into bloated, fat, enormous, hungry monsters, their broken speech making it hard to understand if they want Gertrude to eat or if they want to eat Gertrude.

Because it turns out all of this is, of course, an horrifying illusion ~

(I think it may be a reference to the parents transformation in “Spirited Away” but I may look too deep into this one. It may be the generic “eating nightmare” so typical of the fairy tale world)

From “Movie Madness” (issue 330 of the Archie Comics).

Archie and his date go to a movie theater, and Archie gets for them a big pizza and two big sodas. However he founds out at the last minute that you can’t bring food inside the theater - so Archie has to get rid of it before the movie begins. And he does so by eating everything (which, I repeat, was a two-person “meal” for an entire movie). When he returns to the theater it is burping and nauseous, with a bloated belly, and saying this strange but fascinating joke “My stomach feels like World War II!”

Simple but efficient

From “Feast or Famine”, the 526th issue of “Archie Giant Series Magazine”.

At a party, Jughead makes sure to have a lot of food for himself by a simple trick - before said party, he invited all the male guests at his house and bought them a lot of peanuts and popcorn. As Archie said “he fed us like there was no tomorrow”. As a result they had lost all appetite for the party’s buffet, which Jughead ransacked at least eight time.

We see him later returning home, burping and with a bloated belly.

There is this french comic book called “Les Rugbymen”. It is quite popular and is currently at his sixteenth book (not counting special ones). It follows the adventures of a team of rugbymen, adult ones, and since it’s a funny comic book every strip has a joke in it. Now why am I mentionning this one here? Because, as you can see in this strip, a lot of the team membres are fat and/or big eaters. The other ones are muscular or small. (Plus there’s one “pretty boy”). So you can often see in the comic books characters stuffing their faces and, I guess, gaining weight (not sure about that). And of course, we often see their bellies, just like in the drawing above. However I haven’t read any of the books yet. I only discovered this bande-dessinée because some of its strips were included in a free magazine about comic books. So, yeah, if I ever find the comic books for cheap, I’ll maybe buy some of them. But for now that will be all. And I forgot to add: the drawings are done by Poupard, while the scenario is from Beka (a collaboration between Bertrand Escaich and Caroline Roque)

Edit: I forgot to translate what the blond guy is saying in the first frame. “Well, since everyone took three servings of dessert, I think we can officially close the meal”

I looked into a lot of issues of this BD (French comic book), not into all of them, but so far I couldn't find any actual weight gain. There's a lot of eating and burping and fat guys and big gluttons, but no weight gain or even visibly stuffing from what I could get... If anybody else from a French-publishing/French-reading country knows of any worthy instance in this one, do not hesitate to share!

Issue 10 of Treehouse of Horrors. A crazy Homer turns into a serial killer, killing people (from his old summer camp for boys) by stuffing them to death with donuts.

I know it’s a bit early, but I think I’ll start doing some Halloween-related posts. In the Simpson’s Treehouse of Horror comic, issue 5, at one point Homer stuffs himself on all the offerings people made to an anciens god, releasing a curse that raises the dead from the grave. All of his family is warned of his crime by a very loud burp. And at the end of the story, after replacing all of the offerings and once the night is over, the family hears another one of Homer’s enormous burps, as the dead start to rise again….
