My best friend’s flag and the beautiful sun today. Love you guys.

#GamerGate attacks “race/gender baiters” like Apple for pulling Confederate-themed games from App Store
Missing in all of these tweets? Any rational justification for pulling games that feature the confederate flag. Or any rational point that demonstrates banning the image of the confederate flag will in any way hinder or stop the ideology that surrounds itself with that symbol. Good job, Salon, in trying to paint these people in some sort of light just because they don’t agree with the knee-jerk reaction of “ban anything that contains the image of the confederate flag.” Because that’ll totally fight the racist ideology that used that flag as a symbol - there won’t be any more racist idiots in the world should we just ban the flag.
salon stays fucking up
I remember I used to laugh how Germany banned the PC version of Wolfenstein 3D and had all the Nazi references and other things removed in the SNES version because of a law they had that prohibited Nazi imagery in media under certain circumstances. It was so funny in hindsight, “Those stupid Germans ha! How could they have such a stupid law like that?”….
I ain’t laughing any more.
Social anxiety level: “mentally rehearsing the word ‘Here!’ over and over before the professor calls your name during roll call”
Social Anxiety level: holding all your money from the moment you walk in the door so when you get in line to pay u don’t have to waste everyone’s time
I’ve done both of these things from childhood.
That doesn't make any sense. The confederate flag represents pro-slavery states. It's specifically for slavery. The American flag doesn't represent anything like that.
The United States was built on the backs of slaves with the blood of the Natives, with the stars and stripes flying overhead. It flew on slave ships that brought in slaves and it flew when soldiers fought against Native Americans and sent them on the Trail of Tears.
It’s not supposed to represent these memories, but it does when you get down to it. The same goes for the flags of any nation, really. It represents their history and their ideals. And the history of most countries, including the US, are tainted with the blood of others.
And honestly, there’s not much point in removing the Confederate flag. Racists are going to be racists whether or not they have a banner to fly. Making a big deal over something like this only makes them feel more self-righteous.
You can make the argument for any flag being banned for really any reason We should ban the Chinese flag since Mao killed 40 million people and had them tortured and starved to death We should ban the Belgian flag because King Leopold killed 8 million people and had their arms hacked off in the Congo We should ban the Rising Sun flag because Tojo and Hirohito caused the death of 10-14 million innocents alone due to their savage colonialism It’s such a dumb argument because you could literally find beef with any flag
So why bother banning the Confederate flag? Solely because it’s a hot topic at the moment?
That’s pretty much the exact reason why they want to ban it. Because it’s something that some bad person waved around
Everyone’s jerking themselves off trying to seem morally superior and cultured by taking potshots
I mean, I can see the argument of taking it from the state capital building of South Carolina. I can imagine people feeling uncomfortable with elected representatives using the flag
But lots of people have gone way past it and are talking about banning it alltogether. Striking it from Dukes of Hazzard, (Event though they sell items about a deranged killer), ebay (even though they sell Swastikas and Nazi memorabilia) and Amazon (Even though their co-founder’s home is proudly draped in communist posters and red army themed merchandise)
It’s so stupid
I like how AGGRO’s have gone...
…from:
“Gamergate is insignificant, we’re the majority, the ‘new gamers,’ theres a tidal wave of change coming to games”
To:
“Gamergate has a pro-consumer ideology, which is bad and toxic because….reasons.”
“I don’t have any evidence that ppl I don’ t like are doing bad stuff - but I’m sure they’re still doing it!”
Once more we have a textbook definition of why we use the term Full McIntosh. The poor soul is so divorced from reality.
Feminism & Equality PSA
I like to equate feminism and equality with fast food, like so:
Equality is like fast food, there are many restaurants that serve fast food. Some are more popular than others (McDonalds, Taco Bell). Some serve a specific type of food (Chipotle, Taco Bell) and some are more universal (McDonalds).
Just like feminism, McDonalds doesn’t own fast food, rather, it’s a seller of it. Eating fast food doesn’t make you a customer of McDonalds. You can eat fast food from Burger King, or from Taco Bell, or from Checkers. There are many other restaurants to go to that all serve fast food.
Like anti-feminism, if you boycott McDonalds because you don’t like the quality of their food, that doesn’t mean you’re boycotting fast food, it just means you’re boycotting McDonalds’ version of fast food. You can boycott McDonalds and still eat from Burger King.
It wouldn’t make sense to walk into a Burger King and go to a random customer and tell them “You’re a McDonald’s customer because you’re eating fast food!”, so why does it make sense to go up to an egalitarian or a non-feminist and tell them they’re a feminist because they believe in equality?
This has been a PSA to feminists who can’t seem to grasp the idea of anti-feminists and people who are for equality but don’t call themselves feminists.
Yes, perfect.
However you are a rape supporter if you don’t like McDonald’s
This hurt my mind
People with this mind set are hilarious. Also I wish people would piss off with this “*drops mic*” garbage.
the stupidity if some people, like christ. They bitch about rape and how “it’s not taken seriously”. Yet they trivialize it more than any with bullshit like this and the increasing amount of false rape accusations.
The fact that there are people out there- living, breathing people with family and friends - that believe that all PIV is rape makes my head hurt.

VERNON, N.J. (PIX11) — A 13-year-old boy was the most famous kid in school for a few weeks. A simple pencil-twirling incident landed Ethan Chaplin in hot water with his school, which threatened t…
tl;dr for those who dont want to click
This new jersey kid was spinning pencil in his hand in class, like those pencil tricks and shit right. And some kid tells the teacher he is “twirling it like a gun” and BOOM everyone loses their fucking minds. The middle school kid gets suspended and gets ordered to go to a psychiatrist. The dad refuses rightfully so but is threatened by CPS and so he goes a long. The psychiatrist determines the kid is not insane after tests and urine and blood samples taken. State doesnt care and is ignoring the evaluation and is ordering more tests and shit and if the dad doesnt comply they will put the kid up for adoption.
In related news, there was a kid a while ago who had a lego mini figure “gun” if you can even call it that, the size of a coin barely, and every one reacted in the same way. Lost their fucking minds. A another kids ate some of his pop tart for lunch but unfortunately for him the left over pop tart was in the shape of a gun, or Idaho but the school decided gun and they reacted the same way as well.

We’ve turned into a generation of brats who think that they’re entitled to be sheltered from everything that offends them. We might as well just ban everything so that no one is offended any more.
Oh look, another edgy retard failing to empathise with other human beings while ironically acting offended. Never seen this kind of hypocrisy before.
Oh, I have empathy. Just not for special, delicate little snow flakes who feel the need to try and ban everything that hurts their precious little feelings.
I kind of want to see a dystopian post-apoc YA novel or film where the protagonist escapes at the end, only to discover that the “apocalypse” was a localised phenomenon, the rest of the world is perfectly fine, and everybody has just agreed to quietly ignore Crazy Dystopia Land.
(For bonus points, have this happen at the end of the first installment, and the follow-up is a low-key character study about the protagonist’s struggle to adjust to normal life and deal with the fact that, to the rest of the world, the genocidal dictator who had her family set on fire is a wacky Internet meme.)
The worst thing about this post is that within literally ten minutes of submitting it, I got multiple asks wanting to know which real-world country I was referring to, because there’s more than one that precisely fits this scenario - right down to the “bloodthirsty dictator who the rest of the world treats as a wacky meme” part.
