HAPPY AMELIA POND APPRECIATION DAY!

It’s been a year, almost to the day, and still I mourn that mad, brave Scottish girl who walked the stars. Among the many things I love about Amy, one of my favorite aspects of her is story: the role of others’ stories in her life, her role in various stories that played out, and the stories she herself created. This is the story of the storyteller, Amelia Pond.

He pats the empty space on the plush cushion beside him. It’s hopeful, despite Amy’s expression.

     Amy didn't make a habit of ignoring that call, his call to her. This      particular case was no different. She  sat  down next to him and      did  her best to conceal the pleasant surprise that is was indeed      a comfy sofa.  Her  long  legs  tangled up as she considered the       world around her.

          ❛ Well it's all just a little  bit  too  nice,  yeah?              I mean, aside from the scrambled eggs bit              everyone here is just a little bit too nice. ❜

     TO BE FAIR, the accusation isn't completely off base. Endings      are meant to hurt. It is how you know something mattered, still      matters.  There  might have been some anxiety about seeing a      new her but allowing such a natural emotion does not filter out      the pride.  Amy  considers  the  woman for a moment before a       shrug lifts her shoulders.

     Normally  she  hated asking questions she already had the answer      to but there were times it was important.  Allowed  him to consider       what was going on in a different context.  Puzzles  kept  the  mind,      or so she had been told by psychiatrist number two.

          ❛ 'Cause I don't think she likes it. Been acting up.              I  keep  finding  myself  in  different  rooms.  At               different  times.  I  do  require  sleep,  y'know. ❜

     He liked to think of himself as sneaky. There were times when that       genuinely the case, of course.  She  had  gotten quite comfortable      in a role that was not privy to everything he knew.  She just hoped      for  all  the  most  important  bits and when hoping ran short, Amy      made sure to demand ask.
