her glance hit the man as she turned, one forearm with an array of bags hanging off it. mary jane had just returned from the city, managing to pick up one or two pieces without any of their modern-day extortion. a smirk graced her lips as he introduced himself, "i don't believe we have," although him wiping his hand off was a little... wary, she shrugged it off and decided to shake it anyway. "mary jane, but you can call me mj. i take it you're new around here?"

mary jane shot daggers towards him, the pure disbelief clear from her expression. "what --- are you kidding me? i'm trying to help you!" there was more volume to her words, "all i do is ---" but as she paused, she took a wavering breath, her focus turning downwards. she couldn’t give up on him, in her eyes this was still a serious matter but at the same time, she had to stop herself from uttering something she may regret later. "just get out, harry. you can figure this out alone."

           "are those manolo blahnik’s?” kate all but cried as she stumbled upon mj in the courtyard, her eyes zeroing in on the pumps she wore. “are you insane? you can’t wear those outside. what if they get scuffed?” although she was more of a converse and jeans type of girl these days, she was still a spoiled rick girl at heart. she just wished she was on at her wallet, too.

mj turned her focus to her footwear, impressed the young woman recognized the brand they were forging. for a second she wasn't sure whether to feign their authenticity or admit the truth, but in the end, she chose the latter with a short laugh. "they're faux." she said before the corner of her lips curled upwards into a smirk. "but you, have a great eye. you must like, major in fashion, right?"

"okay, you might have a point... but there must be some doctor that specializes in this kinda thing here though, right?" she couldn't help her groan from him 'figuring this out himself'. "how're you gonna do that? seriously. what --- are you an expert in this now?"

"harry, you're sick!" mary jane exclaimed, sitting up on her bed with widened eyes. "this is NOT something you can just keep to yourself, you need help ---" then he mentioned his father and it killed any rant before it started. she let out a sigh and stood off her bed, approaching her friend in a calmer tone. "he's not here, is he? like, how could he find out? this could be serious."

once harry sat, mary jane shuffled closer, examining the worry in his features and then moved her focus to his arms --- instantly alarmed by the tinge and movement of his veins. "SHIT --- sorry, but th-that's not good." she had to stop herself from jolting back, and instead placed a hand on his shoulder, though her first intinct was to hold him, she was unsure whether this was contagious or not. "you need a hospital, a doctor, something. this isn't right, we need to head to the infirmary, now."
