#Repost @ellenjuliabrown (@get_repost) ・・・ I'm teaching a new workshop on Saturday, August 5 at @klumhouse called The Art of Seeing: Photography as a Contemplative Practice. It's a topic that is central to my work these days, and I'm really excited to explore it with others. We'll talk about the magic of ordinary observation, how to become a better noticer, and find art in unexpected places. Through group discussion, reflective writing, and a wander around the neighborhood, we'll work on dismantling our hurried, habitual way of moving through the world to find quiet, formerly-overlooked moments of beauty. We'll look for principles of visual design like light, line, shape, texture, and pattern, finding fresh inspiration for other art and design practices.
