Yes, that's how it happened. It's because we don't go by the popular vote, we go by a little thing you might've heard called the electoral college.

Trump won Michigan by .3 percent, Wisconsin by 1 percent. Pennsylvania by 1.2 percent. Florida by 1.2 percent. North Carolina by 3.8 percent. And Arizona by 3.9 percent. That's a total of a paltry 491,719 votes. Just four hundred and ninety two thousand votes. And those are only the states that were razor thin in margin.

Yet over 100 million eligible voters didn't vote at all, and 5 million voters voted third party. That's 105 MILLION people who could have made the difference. 492k goes into 105 million 23 times. 492k goes into 5 million, the number of those who voted third party, 10 times. Ten god damn times. That's how many fucking people that is.

If just some of those states had gone to Clinton, she would have won. But they didn't, and it's because millions of people decided voting at all was too much trouble, or they decided that wasting their vote in a protest of ideology was more important than actual human lives.

It's really just that simple.

I'm so fucking sick of all the anti-voting bullshit on this site. I legit saw a post along the lines of "remember that part in lotr where they voted out sauron? Me neither." Like no shit, Sherlock. They didn't live in democracy. You do and you should take advantage of that while you still can!

"Activists" of tumblr: please cut the shit, grow the fuck up and vote. You aren't going to prevent the encroachment of fascist dictatorship with your feelings.

And don't even get started with the whole "voting is participating in the opressive system" bullshit. The oppressor doesn't want you to vote! That's why voter supression exists! That's why prisoners can't vote! As far as sticking it to the man goes, voting may not be as sexy as punching a cop or throwing a molotov cocktail at the white house but guess what? They aren't mutually exclusive either! You can do that on the way to the polls if you want!

VOTE! And when you're done voting, take a long hard piss on a police car. Learn to fucking multitask.

It's actually literally so easy to vote it takes like 30 minutes tops and you get a fun participation sticker. Be a goddamn adult. It's like putting air in your car tires. Maybe not the most fun thing, take a little time and effort, but you need to do and you do it because you're an adult. Grow up
