“I need you to come with me.” Scorpius glared down at the sight of Declan Bouchard at his door at 4 in the morning. “It’s important. Get some clothes on and let’s go.” Who did this little shit think he was ordering Scorpius Malfoy around like that? Though he had known Declan since he was born, Scorp didn’t like being demanded, and he definitely didn’t like being dragged out of bed especially when Albus Potter was snuggled between his sheets. Nonetheless, he would be lying if he said he wasn’t at all curious as to what Declan needed his assistance with. His hand itched and Scorp could feel himself fighting back the urge to catch Declan’s throat between his hands. He was a professor now. He couldn’t act out even if it was to squash the annoying little twit.
“You know, Declan, we’ve been friends for awhile. So you should know very well that I do not react to demands from anyone. I also don’t appreciate banging on the portrait at the arse crack of dawn.” His hand tightened on the portrait frame and he closed it just a little bit. He didn’t want Declan knowing he had someone in his room. The last thing Scorpius wanted was for it to be around the school that he had shagged Potter. “Scurry on back to your to dorm before I dock points or give you detention.”
But Declan didn’t no for an answer. If anything, he looked terrified that Scorp was refusing to go with him. “Listen...Scorp. I need you, mate.” At that, the Malfoy raised an eyebrow. He had always believed that Declan could hold his own, and the thought of him coming to Scorp for help was slightly alarming. “I got into something and I might have mentioned the stuff you told me in private about th-” Malfoy held a finger up to his mouth and closed the portrait door shut. Albus couldn’t hear this, bloody hell, he shouldn’t have even told Declan what he had been researching.
“You TOLD someone?” His fists balled up at his sides, the veins in his arm shooting out against his pale skin. “I’m going to strangle you, Bouchard if you don’t get out of my fucking sight! I trusted you!” He harshly whispered, a feeling of betrayal bubbling up from his core. “I told you that in confidence and I expected you to keep that to yourself. Just like I kept the secret of your little pursuit of Coventry, I also was there for you when he dumped your pathetic little arse and here you are. Here you are spilling my secrets. You’re a fool, Bouchard.” Scorpius shook his head at the mere sight of him. Though Bouchard put up a good front on being strong and confident, all he was was weak.
“Scorpius, please! It wasn’t like that. I found someone who could help you. Someone who wants the same goal. He’s powerful and things are happening. I don’t know most of the details but he wants your help. He sent me to fetch you. He wants to meet with you immediately” This was all too much. Someone else was trying to make the Philosopher's stone? “Just come with me.” But Scorpius couldn’t. Albus was waiting and though one of his goals was to remake the stone, his night with Albus changed everything. This was too dangerous and the last thing he wanted was Al in the middle of a war between Scorpius and someone who wanted the recipe for the stone. “No. Toss off, Bouchard. I’m sleeping. I’m not interested in what you or this mystery man is offering.” And with that, he slammed the portrait door in Declan’s face and made his way back to bed.
But sleep never found Scorpius after his conversation with Bouchard no matter how hard he tried. So for the next hour or so, Scorp watched Potter sleeping peacefully. The soft rise and fall of his chest as he breathed in and out. The way his lips smacked and his pink tongue slipped out to swipe at his dry lips. In his slumber he had moved his hand to Scorpius’ pillow and clutched into it tightly. It was amazing how deeply the Malfoy heir loved him. With this one night Albus had become his world. And maybe turning down this offer would hurt Al. He didn’t know who he was dealing with and knowing the Bouchard family it could be someone incredibly powerful. He couldn’t risk losing Albus or what they just started. So with a soft kiss to Potter’s forehead, Scorpius slipped out of bed for the second time that night and quickly got dressed.
He made his way to his classroom and was hardly surprised to see the door cracked opened. Before he slipped in the door, Scorp took a deep breath and pulled his wizard robe closer around his chest. When he finally gathered the nerve to walk in, he looked around to find a single student sitting in his seat. The Slytherin colors didn’t surprise him, nor did the actual student sitting there. “I had a feeling it was you. Can’t say I’m surprised,” Scorpius said over his shoulder as he walked over to his desk and leaned his back against it. He stared down at the student, his lips twisting up in a smirk. “To what do I owe this pleasure, Mr. Korolenko?”
