Hey little bees
Send me your secrets..
Parents...
Have you ever noticed how a child will be okay with something you said but then the parents starts to throw a fit and now their child is all up in arms? First off I’m a firm believer that there should be some test to see if you’d even be a fit parent. News flash theme parks are not a daycare center. It is not my job to babysit your child just because you brought them onto the property. In fact its my job to not babysit.
For example:
Lines for characters have to close. I know very sad but if you are a damn adult you know, no matter how many times the escort or host tells you, that there is a person inside of it. Think for just one second how hot, uncomfortable and just plain mean it is to stuff someone into a costume for hours? They need a break to, and while some people are alive enough to notice that there is a human in there, there is about 5 idiots that have hit, pushed, pulled or some other form of punishment to this poor person. Now back to the line closing. They will be back and if you were the ass hole that came at the end of the day to just complain that you only came for that character same it. That host has heard every excuse under the sun and just because you assumed the characters are on your time and you are quite wrong doesn’t mean they are obliged to get you a picture.
(Helpful tip get pictures first the rides stay open until park close!)
Using your child as an excuse for you being a shitty parent and dragging them onto a ride instead of waiting the 5 mins to get a picture, you are the ass hole not the person doing their job. Second throwing a fit like a child while your kid is willing to wait for the character to come back, makes you look pretty damn stupid to the host, the character and any guest who waited to get a picture themselves. I get it you paid a lot of money to come in the park today, I know, why else do you think my friends ask me all the time to steal my comps? But that doesn’t mean I am your slave. I don’t make the prices or the rules I just follow them.
You are the parent, a line for the character is usually no longer then 10 mins unless you are waiting for Mickey, because he is a character icon. But even then they tell you a little sign saying how long it will take. That line is 100% shorter then an ride you are going to wait it. So do yourself a favor get the picture, make your kid happy, and not make yourself look like an idiot.
Confession time.
Oh boy today I was literally just attending my ride and a guest comes up to me all mad because his stuff isn't in the spots where we put stuff when asked. First flag is that I've never seen this guest in my life and I've been at this ride all day. The second one was when he kept telling me he was told to put it on the other side by the entrance where he came in and my other attendant had no idea what was going on. This man is complaining and yelling at me and backing up the ride because he lost his "15,000 dollar gold chain and two iPhones and hat." Like I was so confused and finally a supervisor stepped in and after he was talking to him it became known that not only did he not give it to either actual ride attendants. He gave it to the person that runs the pass that lets people get in faster. Like they don't actually work for us. Don't listen to them. They're under a different company. The supervisor that stepped in, who's my friend, was like get a locker next time. It's literally a dollar for like 2 hrs. People constantly be over here thinking that we are gonna watch their stuff. Like no, I have a job to do. Put it in a locker. We have them for that specific reason.
Lets start off little bee with saying I’m sorry you had to deal with that. Second why do people who come to the theme parks think we team members are their maids or something? I do not get paid to take or handle your stuff. You paid to come into a park to have fun, who on earth would you wear a necklace that expensive to a theme park?! Thats about as stupid as the females who wear heels or anything besides tennis shoes. People employees are not there to wait on you hand and foot.
Things that are weird
I keep seeing these whisper things pop up on my facebook, usually about secrets from Disney employees. Now while that app is secret sometimes they get a little too in depth and don’t expect people to figure it out. New flash, little bees nothing stays a secret for long. I ran into a lovely employee at Universal Hollywood this week in my travels, she is wondering where the other disgruntled employees are at. Because the happiest place on earth isn’t the only theme park on the planet. Although many people do forget that little fact. But by far Disney is the worst to their employees sneaky sneaky mouse. It funny how working at one park has got similar problems. Rides going down and guests thinking you can solve the problem. Characters going in a certain times and you getting yelled at like you make the rules. Or standing at a certain position asking guest not to be there like you decided where they could or couldn’t stand.
At Uni the other day I heard a lead with the transformers giving a wonderful excuse as to why the bots couldn’t stay out on a super hot day. It was well over 100 degrees and the poor hosts were clearly dipping in their own sweat. She smiled and told some children that the bots were loosing power because of the heat and she had to go recharge them but they would be back in like 30 mins. The kids expected that and then a group of bratty teenagers thought they were going to be smart-asses with her. Girl after my own heart with the way she handled it.
Guests: So like is it a person or does someone control them?
Host: Oh they are fully automatonic, they do everything themselves.
First off bravo to this girl using a big word to confuse the little punks, two she said it all with a straight face, not smile nothing. She meant business.
Guests: Well someone has to be controlling it.
Host: (Motions to the immediate surroundings) Does it look like anyone is controlling them?
Guests: (Clearly starting to buy into her game) How does that even work?
Host:(Slightly smirking now because shes got them under her thumb) I don’t know that is above my pay grade.
Now here we have a prime example of a girl who clearly knows how to do her job. She handled the kids with grace and a smile. But also dealt with a a group of people who clearly were out to try and make a fool out of her. However the jokes on them because she convinced them they were real *Wink Wink*. Never underestimate someone who is working.
Hi, Little Bees
Your favorite theme park employee is back and do I have some stories for you but first here’s a submission to my messages from a poor smuck. I’m with you dear I’ve been on the other side of things, guests never think they always leave their brains at the gates:
Oh boy I work at a theme park and man do I have stories about annoying guests. I work in rides and recently I had two people fight me and my coworker about not letting a six week old baby on the ride. Rules for those rides that we operate is anyone can get on with an adult but the catch is they have to be able to sit up on their own and walk at least a couple steps. No way in hell am I letting a six week old baby get on my ride. They tried to say it was ok it had gone on other rides in the area. Like cool I'm not losing my job because others let you get on. A thing I'm sick of hearing is whys this ride closed. Cause it's either a) having technical issues b) weather or c) other reasons. I hate when I tell a guest I'm having technical issues they go. Oh it's broken so it's not going back up? No it's not broken it's just having a fit. It will be working when maintenance fixes it.
Little Bees
I’m back and let me just say sorry to those poor day ops people working on days when Horror nights follows. Watching them staff for an non peak day and then allow night-time park guests to come in at 2 must really put a damper on your day. More so to those folks at the Raptor Encounter. One person can not hold those crowds at bay.
Universal Hollywood opens the wizarding world of Harry Potter this week, must be some good some good stories to tell. I shall be around little bees.
Sorry it's been slow
But really someone stole all my stupid people I got nothing maybe it's due to off peak, plenty of stupid people come during busy seasons. On a weak day there is none.
Off peak season
That time of year when everyone is fighting for hours because less people are coming so the park isn't open for as long.

Rain
Worst part about working at a theme park. Working outside in the rain because you don't close for nothing. And I do mean nothing, even if you're sick those people who work upstairs in the nice warm building not getting wet and getting paid way more then you. They expect you to be outside in the rain and pleasing guests. News flash we are cold the guests are cold and they are probably only here because it's the only day they could get off. Love the rain when I get to sit at home in my warm bed snuggled next to my partner and do nothing. I don't want to be outside trying to make my guests happy when really none of us are happy to be in a cold dap place.
Confession
Well my little birds seems like I need to get myself a banner we have our first confession not from me. The other day a Guest yelled at me for the rides being closed it was 34 degrees and raining I tried to calm him down and explain it was to dangerous to ride the rides in those conditions. When I think I have him calm he yells at me again cause the park closed early then proceed to blame me for it. Here is the kicker I'm not in charge of the rides. I'm in charge of the games fml My poor dear, we have all been there I know I feel your pain getting yelled at for something that you have no control over. Send me more of your annoyances we can bask in them together. Xoxo Mistress Quite.

My dears
Hello little bees, it's your lovely resident mistress of the parks. I got quite a lovely message from a wonderful person. As it so happens I am a theme park employee, which is how I have so much insider knowledge plus my dears my friends work in many places high and low. Bring me your confessions I promise they will stay secret. We employees have to stick together lead me your ears and eyes so we might all get some satisfaction. -Mistress quite
Weather
If it's freezing outside and you are so warm and bundled up be nice to theme park employees. They don't get to choose what they wear and often times aren't supplied with enough crap to keep them warm. But they are their still trying to make you happy and have a good day. Don't be a douche bag and complain about crap they can't help with. Seriously it's not nice.
