Murphy and Raven as Hades and Persephone
My dear, my dear, It is not so dreadful here
Sorry I’m going down with this ship
jonathanxmurphy:
Spending as much time with Raven as he had, the boy had grown accustomed to her company as well. He rolled his eyes at her observation and shook his head lightly. ❝What? I don’t know how that’s possible, when I’m obviously so ecstatic.❞ John drawled out sarcastically to the girl. He scoffed at her words and lifted his cup to sip at his drink. ❝Suppose you could say that. Bet I’d be his number one student now, he did try to prepare me,❞ the boy commented, remembering the time the teacher had struck him and how many beatings he’d taken ever since then.
❝ He sure has it out for you, man, ❞ Raven commented, scoffing a little as she saw him command everyone around. Admittedly, she didn’t like how the adults seemed to act as if they were in charge, none of them knew the Earth as well as they did. Just because you’ve read and studied about it, that didn’t mean they had knowledge about how things worked around here. Taking another sip from the beverage, she found that it numbed the pain in her leg the slightest bit. Which was pleasing. ❝ Oh really? In which way? ❞
jonathanxmurphy:
Murphy helped the girl down from her perch and looked in the direction that the acid fog was coming from, looking around the area to find somewhere they could take shelter away from it. He held Raven up when she almost lost her balance and fell, only letting go when she started to move. ❝You better know where you’re going, Reyes!❞ Murphy replied, moving to follow the girl as he quickly moved towards the clearing that Raven pointed to. He looked around again, trying to find somewhere that they could duck into where they wouldn’t be killed by the fog that was descending on them.
Moving at the fast-paced speed was struggling, almost making the brace feel heavier every time she had to lift her leg. Even after a couple of steps, she was getting breathy and needed to support herself against something and stop. But no. When it came to survival, there was no stopping. No matter where and how much her body was aching, she’d have to keep going. Currently, it seemed that the cave in the clearing was their best bet. It was a risky choice however, there could be cracks that the fog could enter through, but there wasn’t much of a choice. ❝ Into the cave, it’s our only option, ❞ she lead, her body threatening to collapse to the ground. Digging her fingers into the rock, she leaned against it to gather support as she attempted to catch her breath.
❝ W- we still need to cover the entrance. ❞
jonathanxmurphy:
Murphy rolled his eyes at Raven’s words and shaking his head lightly. “If you really knew me, then you’d know I’m not above anything,” he pointed out to the girl and shook his head as he glanced around. He let out a scoff of a laugh at her following question and gave a little shrug of his shoulders. “If you found one? Great, hooray for you, Reyes,” he told her. He followed her gaze and then noticed the fog that was starting to make it’s way into their direction. “Told you there was something wrong,” he told her, reaching up for the girl to help her down from where she was working on the wiring of whatever it was she was tasked with setting up. He knew there was reason he’d been hearing an increased amount of movement around them than earlier. “C’mon, we don’t have all day, Raven.” He knew he wasn’t the most helpful of people, but he was trying to be better than he had been before. He knew no one would actually give him a clean slate, and he wasn’t looking to impress them, but he was still going to try for himself and that meant not leaving the girl behind.
Too distracted by the harm that was coming their way, she didn’t take the time to bat his hands away. Knowing that it would go faster if she just allowed him to help. When your life was at stake, pride needed to be pushed aside. As her feet reached the ground, her legs almost buckled under her, not completely prepared for the pressure. Scanning her surroundings, she sought out a path where the smoke had yet to infiltrate. Grabbing his jacket, she tug at it when she saw a cleared area. ❝ This way, go! ❞
Her actions lacked the determination her words withheld. As fast-paced as she attempted to walk, there was the obstacle known as her lame leg that was slowing her down. And no way in hell was she going to let herself rely on Murphy.

A lot of things had happened, and things had been rough between Raven and Murphy for a while. Both of them refused to acknowledge each other and simply worked around one another for a long while before slowly growing into an ease with one another. They weren’t best of friends or close by any means, but they were at a place where they were somewhat comfortable with each other once more. Though there was still moments of awkwardness between the two at times, as was the case right now.
Murphy frowned lightly as he watched Raven, instincts telling him to step forward and help the struggling woman, but his brain also knowing that it would not be a welcomed action. “You know, it’d be much easier if you loosened up a little and let someone help you,” he commented to the other, slowly inching towards her with his hands casually in his pockets as if he weren’t offering and simply making conversation. “I mean, it’d save a whole bunch of time for you.”
Getting by every day was becoming more difficult than anticipated. Her leg was only getting worse due to the amount of workload she was forcing herself through. Lately, proving that she could be like the rest of them even with a crippled leg had become a debacle. No way was she going to that she couldn’t pull her weight. Arms holding tightly to a huge box stuffed with her latest project, suddenly fell to the ground as she lost her footing.
Everything crumbled around her. And so did she. Wires, machines scrap, bolts and screws could be found everywhere around her. Watching the scattered pieces around her, all she wanted to do was scream. Nothing was working out for her recently, her job was becoming harder by each day. Then Murphy came, and she wouldn’t want to be seen like this. Not by anyone.
❝ I don’t NEED your help! ❞ she bit back, looking away before her eyes became wet. Not wanting to share the internal war that was going on inside of her. Picking up the pieces around her, she threw them into the box as she slowly started to calm down. Controlling her anger. ❝ I can manage fine on my own. ❞ That was how it had always been, and it was how it should continue.

“I wonder if Pike ever gets tired of his own self-congratulating and “righteousness”,” Murphy muttered as he watched the former earth skills teacher speak to someone not far from where he was sitting, rolling his eyes when he picked up bits and pieces of the conversation. He scoffed and shook his head. “And apparently having his ass kissed. What a jackass.” He muttered, sipping some moonshine, the one thing he was grateful of Monty for.
Murphy wasn’t as much of a bother as he had been previously. Apparently when you were stuck with someone on the ground, drinking loads of Moonshine with them, you got kind of used to them. Kind of. ❝ Sounds like you’re not pretty happy to see him, ❞ she observed, reaching out for the shared bottle between them before giving it back. ❝ What’s the matter? You weren’t good at Earth Skills 101 or something? ❞ It was all Pike really cared about, even though they all knew he didn’t know crap about it. People learn how to survive on Earth when they get on the planet, not from old books and inexperienced elders.
jonathanxmurphy:
“Loser? Good one, Raven, really got me there,” Murphy drawled sarcastically and rolled his eyes as he glanced around the area then looked back up at the girl as she worked. “Learn how to mess around with mechanics myself? And ruin all your hard work? I wouldn’t do that,” he replied, shaking his head lightly. “Well, yeah, maybe I would,” he admitted after a moment. “What the hell are you looking for?” he asked as she continued to rummage for something. He rolled his eyes at that and scoffed. “Hardly. Though, I wouldn’t blame you for coming back for more. We are in complete understanding of what happened, Raven,” he told her.
❝ What? Not a better comeback so you’d have to diss mine? Thought you were above that, Murphy. ❞ Then again, there weren’t really that many things he was above. But then she was caught off guard, not really prepared for his words. People never really seemed to appreciate her hard work anymore, they just expected it. ❝ Was there a compliment somewhere in there? ❞ If she had to be honest, Raven doubted that she would come back for more. He wasn’t really her type, not in the least. Before she managed to take him down a peg, her eyes caught attention of an abnormal looking fog that was heading in their direction. ❝ Acid fog, we need to move. ❞ One of the most concerning moments of her life was whenever that would happen. With her leg as a burden, she wouldn’t stand a chance.

Murphy rolled his eyes at her response and huffed lightly as he tried to ignore her mutterings as she got the thing back on and got dressed. “I was a little preoccupied and distracted at the time, sue me,” he replied on a little scoff as he folded his arms behind his head.
Murphy didn’t answer her question for a moment, giving a little shrug of his shoulders before looking up at her with a lazy smirk set on his lips. “What, do you want to be?” he asked her, brows raised. “If that’d make you feel special, sure. Believe what you want,” he told her. Though the truth of the matter had been that she had been his first. He hadn’t exactly had much opportunities or really tried before. Not that there had ever really been any takers for wanting to hook up with Murphy before he got imprisoned in the lock up aboard the Ark.
He was radiating with morning afterglow, even his insults were only halfhearted. And she wasn’t sure whether she should blame her inability with snark on it being morning or the sex. Though, it was probably the former.
Getting on her feet, she sought out her hair-tie and put her hair in a tight ponytail. ❝ I think I want to remain the lay you had the other night, ❞ she replied. This wasn’t going to be a common thing. She didn’t want to be known as the psychopath screwer. ❝ Anyways, I’m leaving. Later, Murphy. ❞ They all had their duties, and her worktable needed her. There was already so much to get done.
Murphy: I bid...MY OWN SOUL!
Raven: Murphy, you don't have a soul.
Murphy: *shrugs*
The 100: Raven Reyes
HAI RAVEN YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL ILUVU SO MUCH MARRY ME. <3
Ew, gross. Go away.
jonathanxmurphy:
He couldn’t believe that they would give Raven a gun, but not him. Well, okay, he could technically see the logic there and believe it, but it wasn’t fair. Wasn’t the whole point of this a clean slate? Starting over without looking at the past mistakes. Then again, everyone’s past mistakes could be looked over but his own. “Is that something you’d want?” he asked, brow raised and smirk set on his lips, eyes dropping down to the girl’s backside as she worked on whatever it was that needed fixing. “Sorry I haven’t gotten much experience at it, considering that I was in lock up through most of the years they teach you stuff like this,” he replied sarcastically and rolled his eyes at her words. “As much fun as that sounds, I’d rather be hear and talking about pleasuring your ass, didn’t know you were into that, Reyes.”
It had been a mistake. She couldn’t believe that Murphy was the person she went to for a quick lay. Had she lost all her dignity? He wasn’t even that attractive. Just annoying, really. But he had been better in bed than expected, slightly inexperienced but chaotically wild. Which was something she could dig. Rolling her eyes once again, she didn’t feel the need to give him the attention he sought. ❝ Not literally, you loser. ❞ Once again, the excuse of being in lock up most of his life. ❝ You’ve been on Earth longer than I have, learn it yourself, ❞ she responded, hands rummaging in the bucket for a strap of tape. ❝ Geez, screw a guy once and suddenly he thinks you’re exclusive. That was a one time thing, Murphy. No need to brag about it. ❞

jonathanxmurphy:
Jesus christ, sue a guy for trying to enjoy a little bit of morning after glow, but leave it to Raven to piss all over that with her holier than Murphy attitude. Sure, he’d shot her in the back and done quite a few other shitty and shady things, but had he not just given her a night of pretty great drunken sex too? He figured that was enough good deeds to earn him a little reprieve from her annoyance, though it did feel a little different than usual, not as angry and more tired.
He rolled his eyes at her question, shaking his head as he laid back down and put his arm over his eyes. “Fuck me for not being a mechanic,” he replied then smirked and lifted his arm to look up at her. “Oh wait… You already did that, didn’t you?” he asked, just trying to grate on her nerves some more before she got her brace on and would inevitably leave him alone in the tent. The boy wouldn’t be letting go of the fact for a while, but he wasn’t going to be running around like an excited school girl telling everyone in his path, simply bug the girl and maybe persuade her back into his bed once again if the need should arise and there was no one else willing, which was a likely scenario given his history.
Of course he’d tread in it, continue bringing up how she had spread her legs for him. He would probably have been the last person she would ever allow entrance, but yet she did. Damn alcohol and its power over her. ❝ Shouldn’t take a mechanic to put on a stupid brace, ❞ she muttered under her breath, despising the thing Wick had made for her. Sure, he tried to be kind, but his kindness only brought her backpains.
Daggers could be seen in her eyes as he brought up that just a few hours ago, they screwed. ❝ Was I your first? ❞ she asked, her voice still sounding a little hoarse. Her question was made of genuine curiosity. Nobody down here really seemed to have taken a liking to him nor back on the Ark. No wonder it would be such a big deal for him. Strapping on the remaining places, she wiggled her foot to ensure it wouldn’t fall off.
