Hello! We're David and Katherine, and this is our blog all about Magic: the Gathering. This blog is geared toward newer planeswalkers who are just starting out and also experienced planeswalkers who are looking to try out different formats; and possibly try their hand in competitive play if they've never played in IQ's or PTQ's before. Two Headed Giant results so far

David and I are at 1-1 out of 4 rounds. So 2 rounds left to go until prizes are handed out.

He’s playing B/G and I’m playing U/W. Complete deck lists to come soon. Hopefully by tonight!

Fun facts: our card sleeves match and he’s using the Force of Squirrel playmat while I’m using the Squirrelstorm mat.

I control phyrexian crusader, and my opponent resolves an anger of the gods. Does my crusader die, or is he protected from the red source of damage?

He’s protected.

Remember, “Protection from X” does five things:

Can’t be blocked by X

Can’t be targeted by X

Can’t be enchanted by X

Can’t be equipped by X

Prevent all damage that would be dealt to it by X

Anger of the Gods isn’t blocking, targeting, enchanting or equipping the Crusader, but it is dealing damage. Protection will prevent that damage being dealt to the Crusader.

Be aware that if your opponent casts something like Skullcrack to stop damage from being prevented, then Phyrexian Crusader will still be destroyed despite its protection.

As a female MTG player, I've had guys get SUPER pissed off when I win against them -- to the point where they bad mouth me to their friends who are in the shop, mumble things as I walk by, etc. I've also had guys look me up and down like I'm a piece of meat while playing against them (or in the shop in between rounds at FNM, etc). I've also had guys completely ignore me while playing and causing me to call the judge so they WOULD pay attention to what was going on in the match.

Yeah, unfortunately some Magic players are idiots, and have no idea how to act around a girl.
