Kayla Heralder | 21 | House Heralder | Astrid Berges-Frisbey | Taken
The one who laughed.
The Past:
Kayla had always been too young. To young to fight, too young to love, too young to understand, obviously. Though she had always understood, at least a little, that the world she lived in was tenuous. She could plainly see the tensions around her, the mistrust in the eyes of the strangers, even if a time of supposed peace. Growing up constantly on guard around her sister and family, Kayla learned quickly how to be simultaneously opened to people while guarding herself.
When war broke out, all of the Heralders were sent away from the Common City to the Heralder estate, which was hardly touched by the war. Kayla lived, waiting, to be able to go back into the Common City. When no news came, she took leave of the estate and returned to the city herself, arriving just in time to see the abandoned Heralder house in flames. Righteously incensed, Kayla swore she would find whoever had done this and end the feud once and for all.
The Present:
Waking up, Kayla hasn’t forgotten her promise to herself, and she immediately wants to investigate who had razed her family’s home. Using all the connections she can, Kayla fully intends to take matters into her own hands, stopping this ridiculous feud finally, and get justice for her family.
The Future is currently being written by Dani.

N-no. I was just h-hoping to bump into a boy t-that said hello to m-me in here the other d-day.
A boy? What's he look like?
Oh, h-hi. I didn’t see you t-there.
Need a book or something?
Things get dark, people plot terrible things and your brother well he hides to keep the peace.
I will admit that things seem to have hit a slump, even at work.
Which brother? The smart, responsible, imaginary one?
Do you know what happens when it is quiet?
What?
It is quiet…too quiet..
I like quiet.
What do you want me to say? She made it clear she doesnt want ANYTHING to do with me.
Okay.
Knocking incessantly on Sidney's door
What do I care of your brother?
I don't know. Perhaps you don't. But I figured I should at least let you know that he does, in his own idiotic way, care for you.
You have never been so right wrong.
You're an even bigger idiot if you don't think I can read you like a book, Chase.
You know nothing.
It's Sidney.
Knocking incessantly on Sidney's door
Opens the door slowly. Not if I take your hands, Heralder.
Yes. Very, very scary. Okay. Let's get on with this. My brother is an idiot. Actually, idiot is still a little forgiving. I know this better than anyone else-- now you know it. But he means well, in his own twisted little way. And the thing with Penelope Fletcher was, as he said, an accident. I say it's just his idiocy feeling like he hadn't been stupid enough this week yet.
Knocking incessantly on Sidney's door
I can knock all day, Reinert!
Fine. Be that way. You've already told me everything.
I will just continue to deny all your guesses.
That bad, huh?
It might.
It doesnt.
If you don't tell me, I'm just going to guess.
But still younger so get over it. Does it matter?
It might.
