The new year. I'm not fussed that it's New Year's Eve. Just another cursed day. The only thing I really think is cool is that it will be 2020. That is a cool number. I'd like to live to see 2025. That would also be cool.

Look at me in 2018...

I couldn't believe it when I realised recently that I had already met my newest fandom years ago lol!

I remembered a couple of their abandoned exploration videos that I watched when I sent this post and I watched one of them again. How full circle can I go? LOL

One of the videos was when they were in Australia and they climbed the abandoned Melbourne silos. I don't know the details of the other one I watched, but I'm sure I'll find it soon. I think it was probably another one of their Australia videos.

Anyway... yeah... Sam and Colby are absolutely my newest fandom and obsession, whether you can believe it or not.

And it's cool that they're still a current media presence. Like, they just uploaded videos for Heii Week in October, I think it was, and they're doing their job currently as well as having a great cataloge of old videos I can enjoy.

Most of the time, I come into fandoms once everything's finished lol

thought my free trial of Stan was up, but I've actually got until the 10th, not the 5th as I was thinking which is super sweet! I just finished off SPN season four with the banger closing episode they have. gee, it's quite a roller-coaster extreme ride. I doubt I'll be able to finish another season before the 10th, but I can give it a shot? I also finished off Parks and Rec season three since I thought I was finishing up the trial. I've been balancing watching Parks and Recreation with SPN and some films. The humour and light-heartedness balances out the darkness and unsettling stuff of SPN perfectly. XD Gotta stay in a good head-space.

you know the thing about how fandoms fall in love with a character that has three minutes of screen time in a show/movie/franchise? well I'm enamoured with the teacher in SPN After School Special that gave Sam advice. Bless that man!

SPN S4 E10 - Heaven and Hell (part 2)

Just realised that Bobby's yard is called "Singer Auto Salvage" and honestly, I can't think of a much better cover than that. People don't go to car yards like that for fun, unless they're car people, and I think car people don't make up an enormous section of humanity. Car people that would drop in to Bobby's would either be cool with the way he lives (weird reading, long absences, high security etc) because that's fine with them, or they would sus out that the car yard is pretty dumb if he didn't actually keep it stocked with useful stuff and just used it as a front, so they wouldn't really come around. Hence how empty the lot usually always is when the boys are there. He'd have a job, so he'd have a title in town when he's social, rather than having the 'cover' of something like a reclusive academic or something. He'd be accepted in the local society and have a way to talk to people if he wanted information or contacts or something. Not to mention, visiting hunters could use the car yard as a cover for when they dropped by. I can't think of a single drawback, really. I think it's one of those things that when they're thought of, it's just a convenient, smart decision, but as it grows and time passes over the TV show, it becomes evident that there's magical genius there that wasn't planned.

the final scene of SPN S4 E7 It's the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester is so amazing. so amazing.

Watching S4 E8 Wishful Thinking and it's so clear how much Sam has become like Dean. The conversation they have at the wishing well where Dean asks what Sam would wish for, expecting him to want to go back to the old life, and then Sam says that he wouldn't fit back there because he's changed. And then finishes it off by saying he would wish for Lilith's bloody head on a platter... That's exactly the sort of thing you would expect from Dean, not Sam. Sam has changed and I think Dean has too. It's not so stark a difference, but he has had to address a lot of difficult scenarios and questions regarding the work he does, and now he's not so often the one saying "yep. let's kill them, they're monsters and I hate them." He's more concerned for saving people. The two seem to have met in the middle to some extent.

The ghost fight in S4 E2 was awesome.

Hah, I've got a fun theory for all the eye-fxcking Castiel and Dean do lol. It's because Dean knows that as soon as he looks away from Cas, Cas might vanish. XD
