“…[B]y the time Forbes published its 2014 Billionaires List in early March, it took only 67 of the richest peoples’ wealth to match the poorer half of the world [in contrast to last years list of 85, a trend showing the dramatic effect of the rich getting richer].”

California Bans Breeding Orcas, Orca Shows
In the wake of the documentary Blackfish, public scrutiny against SeaWorld has never been higher. In response, SeaWorld has agreed to discontinue their orca breeding program, and in 2017 they will replace their theatrical orca shows with “naturalistic orca encounters.”
However, as a corporate policy, SeaWorld could change its mind–except for the fact that now, legislation has passed completely banning killer whale breeding and entertainment in the state of California. The Orca Protection and Safety Act, co-sponsored by the Animal Welfare Institute, means that the 11 orcas grandfathered in to SeaWorld San Diego will be the last ones kept captive in California. an artist/ and whether we acknowledge it or not, we are all artists/ is one part clown, and one part cleric/ our work: one part entertainment, and one part revelation…
“Whatever alleviates your stress the fastest, you eat them like that, okay?”
What she says: I'm fine
What she means: I'd consider myself a realist, alright? But in philosophical terms I'm what's called a pessimist. I think human consciousness is a tragic misstep in evolution. We became too self-aware. Nature created an aspect of nature separate from itself. We are creatures that should not exist by natural law. We are things that labor under the illusion of having a self, that accretion of sensory experience and feelings, programmed with total assurance that we are each somebody, when in fact everbody's nobody. I think the honorable thing for our species to do is to deny our programming. Stop reproducing. Walk hand in hand into extinction. One last midnight, brothers and sisters opting out of a raw deal.
fantastic.
