Baby is so cute! Who are they supposed to be? Are they tied to Isaac in any way? Or just a funky basement creature?

Baby!! My other pseudo boss entity! This guy's got basically no lore to speak of- The design ethos that went into making him is kind of his whole deal:

I haven't given a ton of thought to where he'd go if he was an Official Basement Boy, but it would of course be appropriate for him to be loitering around the Womb. If he wasn't a boss, I think he'd also make a funny secret shopkeep!

In terms of Isaac relation or symbolism, there's probably not much if any. Fetal weirdos are pretty standard fare in the Basement, this one is just very slightly more humanoid.

What happened to Salem? What do they represent?

Salem is a boss! They don't have any particularly intricate symbolism, though, like most of my OCs they were a doodle I liked and then kept thinking about. They're definitely meant to invoke the idea of witch hunts, though, if the name and outfit I sometimes put them in doesn't give that away.

I've always viewed Salem as something of an angry ghost, though I don't think they're malicious... Perhaps if they were in the game they'd be some kind of secret playable character unlock.

Y'all asked, here it is- the oldest piece of art I've got still saved to my computer. This picture of ??? was done when I was in middle school! There's an incredibly slim chance you could have seen this on DA about 10 years ago, but the account it was on has since been wiped, so I doubt it's floating around online anymore.

I've also tossed in some slightly less old stuff :) These little busts were emojis I made for a server back in 2018, the odd lanky ones are mid 2017 [despite the timestamp on that message being 2020], and the trio ... mm, probably 2014-15? It's kind of fun to think that I've been drawing little guys for that long! I hope I'm still doing so in the next decade as well ^^

okay game theory time (but only for blue baby i dont wanna accidentally out them in front of the gang and start an arc called "soks a stupid idiot moron") ok now that tweedle dee and tweedle doofus are gone maybe. Is blue baby just isaac but zombie? like i've played the game that is your lives before so i know a thing.

i want to answer this plainly because it's relevant to the lore of this setting but I'm doing the thing where all of the different facets of isaac are different people! the only reason I've stuck to one "dead" isaac is because a lot of these interpretations are very old and dear to me and i just don't have as much attachment to, say, forgotten or keeper. isaac is referred to in the past tense for an entirely different reason though. if y'all can figure it out that will just be a fun treat for you :) it's not particularly important to the storyline, so don't worry about it too much.
