“I’m hoping we can avoid war as much as possible,” she murmured and she then pressed her face into his neck.
“I hope so too. It was not enjoyable, the last time.” He smiled and wrapped his arms around her. “I am definitely thinking too much.”

She chuckled softly against his skin and she trailed her lips down to his jaw. “We need to be a good team,” she murmured.
He smiled at her. “That is true, and I think distraction is good. I mean, if we wind up back in a war, it’s not good then. But, it’s good at other times.”
fvirmaiden:
“Come here,” she told him softly and she held her arms open for him. “This was supposed to be a distraction,” she murmured as she kissed his temple. “Whatever is to come,” she said, “I will be right next to you to face it with you. Together.”
He smiled at her. “Yes, I know.” He could be more serious than he liked sometimes. Life was far too complex.” He nodded. “Well, it’s always good to have someone with a dagger, on your side. My sword, your dagger. We make a good team.”

“I don’t agree.” She has witnessed a lot of turmoil during her short life and it was mostly caused by those men who called themselves king. Because of their greed, and something different needed to happen. “I think you can be great.”
He shrugged. “We’ll see. I’ve managed to do some good things already, got it away from my uncle, but I’m still not entirely sure that I like being tied up in this mess and the huge issues that came from it.”
fvirmaiden:
She reached out for him, “I think you’re better than those men.”
He nodded. “I think that you are biased. They’re probably better Kings than me. They at least know what they are doing, more than I do.”
fvirmaiden:
Laughing softly, Guinevere rested back and tilted her head to look at him. “You are tough,” she murmured.
He smiled at her. “Good. It’s important to remember those things. A King is tough, or actually, no, most of the Kings I’ve met are ridiculous, if I’m honest.”
fvirmaiden:
Guinevere reached up and traced her fingers along his jaw. “I don’t know how you managed it, but yes, I’m a bit soft around you.”
He smiled at her. “This is true and I’m not remotely soft around anyone, so I’d say maybe I’m a little soft around you, but not physically. I am still very tough, obviously.”
fvirmaiden:
“I like that about you,” she weaved her fingers between his and gently tugged him down to her. She brushed her lips against his and breathed out his name.
“I’m glad. I like a lot of things about you.” He moved to kiss her back and smiled at her. “You know, you are quite soft around me, really.”
fvirmaiden:
“And you’re protective over them,” she murmured as she leaned up and nuzzled her nose against his.
He shrugged. “I suppose that I am.” He knew that he had people who he was very protective of. He’d always been like that, but he was a lot of people were like that.
fvirmaiden:
“You are rather ridiculous,” she teased softly. “But you care a lot about the people you trust.”
He shrugged. “I suppose so. I don’t care about a lot of people, so I care about the ones that I trust, I suppose.” He’d never really thought about it, if he was completely honest.
fvirmaiden:
She sat on the edge of the bed and chuckled as she gently tugged him to her. “I’m realizing that,” she said with a smile.
He smiled at her, moving closer to her. “Tell me, what other things have you realized, other than the fact that I am extremely ridiculous, of course. That’s always pretty obvious.”
fvirmaiden:
She laughed softly and nudged him playfully. “And those situations include not tripping ever?”
He shook his head. “Not ever. Okay maybe, I’ve tripped a time or two. But, I don’ like admitting these things.”
fvirmaiden:
She looked up at him, amusement reaching her eyes. “My lord, are you saying you are fortunate enough to have never trip?”
He nodded. “Of course, that’s what I’m saying. I have that sort of skill. It comes from being raised in a brothel, you know. You learn all sorts of things that can help you out in many different situations.”
fvirmaiden:
She nodded as she rested her chin on his chest. “Livable but make sure you’re not constantly tripping over your own boots.”
He sighed, taking a deep breath. “But, what if I’m not clumsy? If I’m not clumsy, I wouldn’t fall over them.”
fvirmaiden:
She nodded as she weaved her fingers between his and she gently tugged him closer to her. “I guess I’m going to have to deal with that,” she teased softly.
He nodded. “Yeah, I guess so. I just am a little disorganized, but I mean, I can handle some organization just not to the point, where it s eems not livable, that’s all.”

Guinevere stepped in behind him and looked around. She laughed softly and nodded. “Don’t like to keep things in proper order,” she asked and turned to him.
He shook his head. “No, I dislike anything being in a proper order. That’s never been my thing, on any level, really.”
fvirmaiden:
She gave his hand a squeeze and took in a deep before she nodded, “after you.”
He smiled at her, and led her up to his chambers, opening the doors. “It’s a bit of a mess. I like to have my own space, without someone coming behind me and fix it. It’s that not wanting to be King how they want thing.”
