Heads up. For I do type a lot, if you don't like reading articles or literally any form of literature then too bad. Because English is my skill, reading, writing, creative writing. All that crap which for some reason I'm good at (honestly, it's a curse), since I can't talk kindergarten or in trendy algorithms all kids are raised on in this modern age. Sorry, but I prefer to talk properly, not with shortcuts all the time. I'd rather have a mess of properly formed words than some alphabetical vomit that looks as if someone smashed their head into the keyboard. Yeah, I've had enough people avoid me and get all cringy just because they see my long typeouts, which because it's how I talk naturally, I can't help. They be like "I ain't reading alldat" yet put a comment in anyway, because that's the intellect of humanity sometimes.

I honestly don't understand the world of cutsy small talk that whumpists seem to love. Look, you guys don't need to limit yourselves to speaking like a three year old learning to use one emoji at a time or one word per comment. You are entitled to free speech here, I DO NOT ban, block, or remove messages for being too long and detailed. You wanna write an essay in the comments about what you know about Danganronpa whump then go ahead!

Anyway.

Here's the obvious question most people visiting will ask

What is Whump?

It's basically a passion or interest in medical scenarios in fiction from what I can gather. I honestly can't be arsed to research it fully, I'm just talking from the experience i had when i used to regularly look at a whump artists blog (because they did amazing Raincode fanart). Some people feel comfort in seeing images or art depicting their favourite characters (be it video game etc.) As being unwell or injured. Being looked after by another character. It's a kind of theme or trobe obsession regarding the "feeling sorry for the sick, injured or disabled" scenario. I guess we feel that kind of energy, that kind of relief that our characters are getting treatment for their illnesses. Or that we find it adorable to see these characters in that situation, and we go all "awwwwwww 😍😍😍😍" when we see a hurt character being cradled in the arms of another character. Basically, that is what whump is.

It's all a strange concept to me but weirdly I've always been into seeing injured or sick characters getting that support, being hugged by friends etc. I guess it's because you'd want that comfy love by those closest to you if you felt unwell. I think this is why doctors and nurses enjoy their careers, that care towards others in need, it starts to make sense. However, unfortunately I've seen that some whump fans are more talk and wouldn't actually care for any real people going through similar things.

I don't actually like the word "whump" I hate it. It's a pathetic word that's got a cushy exterior but the interior is more sour, cold and far from what it claims to be. But that's what Tumblr calls it, it's a thing so we gotta go with it. I have mixed feelings about this concept, I just think that some people use this as an excuse to ostracise people they don't like, the people with real illnesses etc. Claiming that that's too heavy for them yet worship whump. These whump fans are the cutsy kind of people who love seeing video game characters suffer yet hate real people who vent or go through serious stuff.

I'm not a whumptologist, okay? I don't know Jack about it, only that it's some medical obsession some fans have and don't shut up about. Fanarting characters with fevers to hell and back because that's their fix (even if the character never gets a fever in said game). They love it, that's their hobby, so lets go with that. I just want to help make people happy and make amends for what I've done to annoy these people.

This place doesn't just have cutsy, adorable whump. Medical is a serious, heavy topic, there may be gore (be it surgical or injury), trauma stuff and mental health illnesses these VG patients are going through, and no, i am not going to censor or trigger warn every single drop of blood seen, blood is very common on injured vg characters in multiple mature games, it's only if it gets too detailed that i may issue warnings in advance. If you hate it in real life then this may not be the place for you. This is not an overcensored child friendly blog where there's zero negativity whatsoever, I'm not doing that crap, this is medical, it can be realistic and traumatic most of the time, it's not exactly the cuddly cute universe you'd see in some whump blogs where they ignore the negative health impacts and how they can relate to real life medical issues that may have inspired them. There's honesty no point in seeing any whump if you can't handle negativity, because when a character is ill, they are suffering in some way. It's like, why become a doctor if you can't handle blood and gore? You don't have to like it but in the situation you would need to work with it, I'm sorry but it's simple logic.

Whump isn't just about respecting the fictional characters but also respecting anyone you know or see who's hurt or sick in the real world. They may not be an adorable vg character but they certainly don't deserve instant rejection in the form of blocks if they mention their own illnesses. So please, be kind to others who are suffering, treat them how you'd treat a whumpee, with care and support.

Im also here if you need a friend to vent to, i accept venting as I've been fighting with depression for a long long time. I'm not one of those people who run away from others who suffer, or i might as well not look at whump. In my philosophy, if you respect the character, then you respect the living being. No blocking people who vent and talk about trauma. If people are not up for that, then leave and don't return. Or a powerful curse may be set in your soul, slowly bringing misfortune and darkness in your life.... you may beg for help, but none shalt come, for you have rejected those who needed you, just to protect yourself from their woes. All humans deserve a chance to be themselves, to feel they can belong in a place without constant judgement, whether they be strangers or not. We are strangers before friends. You don't know one's potential unless you give them a chance.

This place is proof that I'm more than some stranger that is supposed to exist just to make people feel uncomfortable, I'm working hard to prove that wrong as we all need to be given a chance first before judgement. I tried to use this as the last form of ultimate apology to the Raincode fanartist community and what they've lost out of a devoted person who loves video games as well. I tried... but they never came forward to try and settle things properly. I hoped that someday we could finally be friends but sadly that's their choice and there's nothing that can be done.

Humanity is hard to please. You can try for years but there are standards you must have in order to get people to like you. Firstly, you must be happy all the time, act like there is no such thing as trauma or negativity as that is the ultimate online sin. And have a high rep, it's like youtubers, artists or anyone who both takes the time to create things and have an interesting personality that draws attention. It's exhausting, I've failed at everything to accomplish a community that both likes me and welcomes me with open arms without saying "move on" like what a security guard would say to a troublemaker to move them away from an important place they were banned from.

If you run into this place then you have found the equivalent to the legendary lost city of gold. I don't care how hard i work here, I'm not looking for praise, nor would i get it anyway as if im a fanartist or content creator. My job is to create an archive of mostly hard to find video game whump.

This blog isn't like any other whump blogs. It's purely video game related, even including vg manga. Also I might as well celebrate random artists I find on Pixiv. On ideas for vg whump. I don't know yet. This blog is also unique because I find whump hidden in the depths of old video games no one looks at. Most vg whump blogs fantasise on existing popular games, whether they have whump or not. I don't just do that, I actually skim though PS1, GBA, Gamecube, NES etc. Games to seek out any whump.

Not many people do that. And there's a lot of whump you have missed out on... so hopefully this blog will serve as a unique experience for exquisite fans of whump.

I don't post any detailed NSFW stuff, I avoid it. Although I am fully aware of the functionality of the human body, I will swerve away from it. Should a video game that im posting about have NSFW content in then I will not post any offending pics or any videos that has that specific content in. In all honesty I hate seeing the human genitalia anywhere, it's boring and it ruins the whole experience if you are trying to be serious about something. Yes, I may joke about that stuff but not here. Some video games will have more freedom of anatomy, I won't show you the filthy parts, I'll warn that the game has NSFW content but it's up to you if you want to research the game in your own time. Most of you are adults anyway.

Lastly I may get a lot of details wrong in posts. I'm only human so I'm not perfect, or a living dictionary either that always spells everything correctly.

Game: Go Home Annie

This is actually another SCP game, one where you play as an employee of the SCP foundation.

This is probably the least scariest SCP game out there, it definitely doesn't add up to the games that have the infamous SCP-173, that goddamn sculpture that moves only when nobody is looking at it, can teleport anywhere at the blink of an eye and snap your neck if you blink or are not staring at it constantly. Of course, this game doesn't have this SCP.

For the most sensitive of people, like me who can't stand the super scary stuff like jumpscares, it's a godsend that we don't have to worry about this thing randomly appearing suddenly, or even SCP-650 (the startling statue). The non hostile yet fucking annoyingly terrifying as this black colored humanoid statue with no facial features will randomly teleport right behind you in a threatening pose then dissappears when you look away. If you saw it once then it'll constantly follow you for the rest of the entire time, aiming to scare the shit out of you whilst never actually attacking you.

Thankfully you don't have to constantly look around nor do you have anything follow you in this game.

That doesn't mean that the SCPs that were selected for this game are any less disturbing though.

It's funny to have a conversation with a talking bathtub but wait till you find out about SCPs like the tablets that causes bananas to manifest inside your stomach

Look, being an SCP foundation worker is a shit job. You are NEVER safe, if the SCPs don't kill you then the security guards will.

If Annie gets detected in certain guarded areas then she will get shot. You see her raise her bloodied hand before collapsing

It's not known if her hand was shot or if she put her hand onto the location of the wound.

During the main game, you aggravate an SCP that's a bucket of blood red liquid. It then takes over the facility in masses of alien flesh and arms that attempt to grab the player.

Upon its escape, it injures both Annie and a foundation soldier

I know what you are thinking; what other dangerous SCPs are contained in this particular facility? Let's take a look, shall we?

This will put you off bananas for life

Imagine having 9.15 million kg of unpeeled bananas grow in your stomach. They would explode out of your body.

There's also the flamingos that can multiply itself and are capable of killing by stabbing their victims, possibly via their thin metal stalk legs.

And there's a parasitic esc deer that can deform itself. It actually escapes the facility.

However, the foundation has also been experimenting with creating replicas of existing SCPs. Why did they think that this was a good idea?

Yep. They successfully replicated the toaster. Apparently it's severe effects happen after two months exposure to it. Still... I wouldn't even want to be around it for a second.

Here's a potato that can kill you if it's in your possession after a whole year

Turns out this was a failed clone because the potato is yellow instead of red.

Game: SENARA: THE SACRAMENT

This is a survival horror game with a rather unique setting. You are stuck on a cultist passenger ship that's overrun by hostile members of an evil cult and later on - strange demonic monsters will also begin to appear.

You must find a way to get off the ship alive. It's a good thing that you can use weapons in this game but the gameplay itself is repetitive. You'll soon get used to the layout of this ship as you go back and forth trying to access the locked rooms.

A man is on that alter with a blade in his chest, he's still alive and is violently convulsing. You can see what look like boils on his skin, especially on the legs.

He is clearly suffering tremendously as he is being used as a sacrifice for this demonic, delusional cult.

Game: File Destined

This is a detective horror (probably psychological) game where you need to investigate a murder case in a seemingly abandoned hospital.

Since you don't know much about what happened, you need to explore the extremely dark hospital to find any items of interest that are both clues and evidence in order to piece together the case.

So, be prepared to explore a very haunting and dark hospital, with a lighter as your only light source along with whatever lights that still work in the dilapidated building. But be careful... you are actually not alone, you need to be careful not to run out of lighter fuel because it's dangerous to spend too much time in the darkness.

There are some points where you aren't in the hospital at all, a psychological illusion? Or proof that the place is haunted?

The hospital is extremely dilapidated, this is also one of the only lighter areas as the building is so dark, you can barely see anything at all.

The cool thing is that you can pick up items and inspect them. This gives you a closer look at the medical equipment.

Here's something we don't often see in any video game. These special medical waste bins, you see them everywhere in real hospitals. They are made in such a unique way so that the needles can't puncture through nor would you accidentally jab yourself, and to keep any fluids bodily or not inside. Obviously, you wouldn't put any used needles in an overflowing bin or that would be an instant health hazard.

Interestingly this bed looks rather intact and cleaner than the furniture around it.

Game: Office After Hours

This is an office themed psychological horror game where you are an office worker who is trapped in a looping paradox of the same office.

You are supposed to find numbers during each loop and avoid anything strange. Oh and maybe don't go near this random Tyranosaurus Rex

It will eat you if you get too close. But for some reason that guy at the desk over there is overly chill with it all. He's not bothered at all about the dinosaur or the damage to his wall. He won't even get up off his chair, like my brother playing Roblox every single day.

Wait a minute... that looks like an operating room!

Upon closer inspection, this may be used for implanting the brainworms in human test subjects. At the end of the game, you learn that you were a test subject for this brainworm, that is supposed to enhance productivity (or basically help with mind control to force humans to be more productive and hard working)

You also learn that you were a failure in the experiment. Maybe that's a good thing as these brainworms are literal worms, which is both gross and worrying for how it'll affect the human brain in the long run.

Thankfully you do seem to get them out of your body, I'm not sure if that's by vomiting them out or they come out of your nose. Yeah... best not to think about that.

They may be out of your head but the brain is a fragile organ. Surely there's going to be some issues after having two big fat worms in there.

Game: Vampyr

Whilst most of the hospital is surprisingly clean despite it's busyness and the countless death in the London area, there are some places that are messy and stained with blood, particularly the mourge.

Type: Public hospital

Status: Operational, the building is intact with many areas looking clean and clear but there's a few areas that are messy and ransacked, likely due to the stress of the Spanish flu pandemic.

However, the mourge side is more messy and is overrun by rouge vampires (or Skals)

Okay, this dumbass (me) only just realised that you can create Tumblr communities. So I've decided to make a Raincode one as an experiment to familiarise myself with how it works.

I believe this experiment will definitely fail, since I'll be tagging the Raincodian posts and once again that'll likely trigger them but I'm hoping that they'll see my new gifs this time. Maybe they'll finally forgive me.

Lets take a look at Vampyr

As you can guess by the name alone, this is indeed a vampire game where you play as a man named Dr. Jonathan Reid who is a newly turned vampire.

It is not essentially a horror game but instead an action RPG that does have some horror themes.

The game is set in 1918 London, where the Spanish flu has run rampant and at the same time is being haunted by the supernatural.

Whilst it's awesome playing as a vampire, there is a major problem... Jonathan is a doctor, and has sworn an oath to save lives, which contradicts his needs to feed on fresh blood to sustain him. As well as the urge to kill...

So, you are a vampiric doctor. How is this going to play out in a time where there is a flu pandemic and everyone is superstitious over undead monsters?

Jonathan awakens in a corpse heap with a thirst for blood. As a vampire he has multiple abilities that will help him hunt and survive in his new form, one of them being that he can see the blood vains within a living person as well as their heart. Unfortunately his thirst took over any realisation as he kills a woman he loves.

As a doctor, he desperately tries to stem the blood flow but it's already too late.

Jonathan then finds out that he is being hunted down by vampire hunters who immediately accuse him of killing the woman and proceed to shoot him. These hunters are aware of what vampires are as they call Jonathan a leech and beast among other insults and even know some of the main weaknesses of a vampire. Fire and sunlight.

The sunlight will burn Jonathan's flesh if exposed to it, but will instantly heal if he goes into the shade.

At the start of the game you can see the bite marks on Jonathan's neck from where he was bitten, he also tried to shoot himself but since he is immortal it didn't kill him. Yet it did make him lose blood and left a hole where the gunshot was.

Jonathan struggles to take into terms his new life as a vampire. He even dislikes it whenever he drinks blood from rats on the street, knowing that he needs to feed or he'll go into a frenzy.

Soon, he will be invited to work in a hospital to help with the flu outbreak among other things. This won't be an easy ordeal, as a hospital has the one thing a vampire desperately needs. The unlimited supply of blood. This is where Jonathan needs to keep himself under control, making sure that the mortals around him do not know of his true nature.

It's like the Vampire The Masquerade series where you must constantly hide the fact that you are a vampire, and doing this in the hospital you'll work nightshift in won't be easy at all. Jonathan is a well known doctor and surgeon in the area, he cares deeply for the wellbeing of his patients and wants to save as many lives as possible but his vampirism is going to be his ultimate challenge yet.

Game: Tormented Souls 2

The sequel to Tormented Souls where you play as a young woman named Caroline Walker who originally lost her eye in the first game. While the first game was set in a hospital/mansion hybrid, this time you are exploring different areas in a remote town, and are up against a dangerous religious cult.

Caroline and her little sister arrive at a town called Villa Hess where at first they are welcomed by church nuns. But very soon things start to get horrifying as Caroline's sister is kidnapped and Caroline wakes up to find herself in a bed with multiple strange bladed articles stabbed into her body.

This isn't the kind of acupuncture anyone wants, those dagger-like blades look a bit thicker than needles and are stuck rather deeply into her flesh.

Since they are luckily not puncturing any of her vital organs, Caroline is still alive and manages to move her body.

She pulls out each of the strange pins, losing a lot of blood in the process. She gets up but suddenly collapses onto the floor as her body is very weak from the ordeal, she also vomits before getting back on her feet.

Acupuncture is a traditional treatment that is supposed to help relieve pain and balance body energy. It apparently stimulates nerves, releases natural painkillers, and affects the nervous system.

Practitioners use tiny hair thin needles to place into specific points on the body.

Whilst it may look discomforting and horrifying if you have a phobia of needles, it's actually meant to be a relaxing session. The needles are so fine that they rarely cause any pain. I watched my mother have it done a few times, it does depend on the placement of the needles as sometimes they can cause aches.

They are certainly not dagger blades that's for sure.

Anyway, Caroline is dangerously low on heath as she wonders around the area, doubled over like she's in pain.

If a church has a medical facility like this then I'd be very worried

The place is dark to navigate, but eventually Caroline finds a First Aid Kit to restore her health alongside seeing things that don't exactly belong in a church building.

it's basically the Ebola series version of Resident Evil Village. The environment is severely dilapidated and there really isn't much to see. You are far better off with playing Resident Evil Village.

Earthbound is a legendary game originally on the SNES that was notorious to players for the bizarre shit it came out with

With things like having a group of four random kids armed with baseball bats and psychic powers beat up the kind of enemies you'd see during a drug hallucination trip.

Earthbound gave players the option to let themselves be scammed by a home salesman, had enemies and a boss that was a pile of living vomit with a very disgusting soundtrack to match. You could make an alien fly repeat it's final words before it died until the end of time, it had a scene in the Japanese version where Ness was compleatly naked.

And of course the infamous final boss that could only be defeated by getting Paula to pray repeatedly that is still considered one of the most disturbing moments in gaming history.

But that is nothing compared to what one of the characters had to go through

The last party member you obtain is a prince with the most unfortunate name in existence, like he was named by a two year old obsessed with toilet humour. Poo, yes, that is not some joke where a gamer decided to name one of their characters after one of the many fecal names out there, that's his official name.

His name alone isn't even the most of the suffering he has endured in his entire life of being written into this game.

Before he joins Ness, he has to take on a very important trial through meditation. One where a ghost mutilates him.

In order to complete the triel, you must accept all of the ghost's conditions and let him rip you apart.

He just says what he's going to do so matter of factly, with no remorse or regret that this is very likely causing the prince extreme pain and suffering

The prince's hp goes down to 0 but it doesn't end there.

When he severs your ears the sound literally cuts out, making this even more horrifying.

So that i can no longer see you? Awesome! Go ahead you ugly motherfucker

And yes, the screen goes black after he does this. So now the prince is crippled, armless, deaf and blind, so now the ghost talks directly into his mind and offers to take that away too. At this point I'd let him just to end my suffering.

After this the trial is completed and the prince is unharmed as if none of this even happened.

Once upon a time in a game that used to exist called Tribe Nine, characters could have random conversations on their phones. Like discussing Koishi's medical kit

Anyway here's some gifs and stuff

Sometimes the characters can miss the ball. And regarding how XB is a karate styled baseball with free running, you can imagine how dangerous it is

These guys can fall from extreme heights yet still play on as if they haven't fallen from a skyscraper.

And can jump as high as the Hulk apparently

Having a baseball violently smashed into your back, forcing you to the ground won't really do you good in the long term. He's gonna wake up painful in the morning.

These guys will also show off their superhuman badassery by PUNCHING the ball

Note: don't actually punch a baseball, they are very hard balls and will probably injure your knuckles if not break them

Funny enough, that guy up there who can punch balls was actually stabbed by a kid and was able to play a full XB match before slowly succumbing to his injury.

When you are playing him here, he is actually limping

This makes him slower so you had to constantly tap the dodge button to move any quicker.

The poor guy... if only Kazuki was there to tearfully scoop him up in his arms, cradling and hugging him as he slowly dies

I've already shown a lot already but here's the stuff I missed out

Koishi, my favourite little medic 💚💚💚 and the flagship character of this blog especially since his game is no longer available.

Even though he's a medical student, it's always handy to have a medic on your team. Especially in a deadly universe ruled over by some kind of God who forces everyone to play life or death games.

A laser beam through the heart. Like in some sci-fi space movie. It pierces a hole right through his chest, causing a massive bleedout, he also looks like he's in severe pain as he's collapsed on the floor winching and seemingly clutching his chest where the impact was

Koishi was in the area and interestingly didn't run towards his body or say anything.

Yet when these two get flung back by Zero in his fat cuddly plushie form then he snaps into instant concerned reaction mode

The same can't be said for Yo here when he collapses after using his special XB move on Zero

Me.....dic p...lease

There are clinics in the game that would heal your characters

I have no business with healthy people, come back when you are dying

Sui becomes a dickhead and attacks Tsuki, launching her far onto the pavement

He then attacks Yo, who faints from the impact

The rest of the gang rush over, with Koishi stopping at each of the collapsed characters indicating that he's checking them both

All whilst Kazuki takes his sweet time walking slowly

Apparently, only Yo passed out. Tsuki turns out fine. Yo later wakes up, probably with a throbbing headache. Koishi doesn't say anything for a while until

"It's a good thing that you are awake Yo, those two pricks over there are having a long staring contest and that cat is their referee"

Oh, that's good then

Later on, there is a sequence where you help Koishi find and take care of some sick and wounded people

Eh, I kinda want to beat up our ex best mate right now but sure, I'm in

Tell that to Kazuki, who has decided to use a tranqulizer spray on the uncooperative patient to put him to sleep so that you could treat his wounds. Yet you were fine with that. He may have needed treatment but come on, human rights guys, human rights.

DICKHEAD, this goes against First Aid protocol!

Eventually, Koishi and Tsuki both leave the party for a while

Sui once again gets Darth Vader lasored, this time in multiple places at once

Unfortunately his dick wasn't targeted

While Koishi runs towards his new patient, Yo starts to yell at Zero, then soon after a reveal Sui somehow regains consciousness.

But instead of being thankfull that these people care about him, he goes into a rampage and even beats the living shit out of Tsuki

Yo, after standing there as a spectator finally decides to do something and free his friend from pain by shoving this fucker away

Right after Yo's sprite moves to shove Sui out of the way, Koishi rushes over to Tsuki and we see his sprite crouching beside her. As if he's checking exactly where she was punched, which looked like the arm

Even a single punch in the head has a chance of causing a severe head concussion and internal brain bleeding. There's been instances of death from a singular punch to the face in reality, that's why it's actually so dangerous to punch someone's skull, plus you'd be had for murder.

A single punch could also cause long term brain damage if hard enough and if the victim even survives it.

So yeah. Never punch anyone in the head. Your skull protects the brain which can easily be damaged as its a squishy organ. Head concussions are so dangerous because you don't know if the brain is damaged without a scan. That's why it's vital to get medically checked immediately if you've hit your head hard and are feeling nauseous, dizzy and faint.

A punch to the face is extremely dangerous. It can cause traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), a brain bleed, or unconsciousness. The most severe outcomes usually happen from a subsequent fall to the ground A single coward punch can cause devastating medical impacts. A single blow has the potential to cause permanent disability or even be fatal.

Because the sudden impact forces the brain to twist and strike the inside of the skull when a punch lands, it can stretch nerves and snap neurons. The immediate risks it causes are concussions, Intracranial Hemorrhage and fractures. However, the long term complications can be Post-Concussion Syndrome (Lingering symptoms like chronic headaches, vertigo, and cognitive issues that last for months or years) and Neurological Damage (Increased risk of long-term problems like post-traumatic epilepsy, mood disorders, or memory loss) so in hindsight, Yuma is lucky enough that he's in a mystery labyrinth which he can't fully die in. After all, Shinigami constantly slashes his throat with a scythe to which the wound suddenly disappears a second after.
