Today
I’ve just been cleaning today. I feel alone. I have a few “interviews” to work on and practice for class. I think I just need to dive into myself more and be comfortable with being alone...again. I have a lot of real life “open tabs” that I NEED to either give attention to or close. Adulting can be so consuming when you have multiple interests and also feel the need to chill and do self-care work. No one who is close to me is on the same exact path and its hard to relate when the people closest to me challenge me to ignore MY responsibilities. I am learning to not be so easily swayed by them anymore.
I’ve been aware of that quality in me. Being easily swayed. Go with the flow. “Okay, I’ll go out!” even when I know I need to focus on my goals to actually move ahead in life. Maybe I need friends that uplift ME and challenge ME in exactly what I’m doing.
I am grateful for my mentor because I feel like he’s the only one who takes my work seriously and helps me get to where I know I need to be. I need a healthy push. It helps me grow. I think now, it is important to distance myself from people who only want fun 100% of the time. It really distracts me. Rambling...blah.
In short, I am starting to take myself seriously and I need to be around people who take themselves seriously. I think I’m at the age where it doesn't look good to my peers to be lazy, distracted, and have no goals. I care about that.

Muchisimo Nostalgia
Today, I bought myself a new MacBook Pro as an early birthday present. I saw a girl and her father looking at macbooks. They decided on the one and the best buy employee left to go get the computer. This pre-teen girl was filled with so much joy. You could just tell that she had been begging for that computer. She was so thankful and it just reminded when my dad got me my first MacBook for my birthday. He heard me and made my wish come true. I felt SOOOOO cool. I could play with photobooth, produce silly videos on iMovie and rock out on GarageBand. I became drama club historian in high school and uploaded the photos I took of competitions and shows to iPhoto and loved editing the end of year videos so we could reflect on the year of performing and being weirdo goofballs. This tool really allowed me to be creative and expressive at an early age.
I am turning 28 in 19 days...weird. Muchisimo nostalgia...
Starting Fresh
Kinda,
Most of you might know me if you are checking out my blog or website...If not, I AM MICHAEL SEGOVIA.I am an actor in LA. I’ve been living in Los Angeles for 5 years and I love it. I really wanted to blog again because I enjoy writing about my experiences and my journey as an actor/human.
Today I deactivated my Facebook account. I felt like I was checking it every ten minutes for a new meme, friend milestone or new status. I was swallowing data. Everyday there is a new meme or news that is blown out of proportion and I couldn’t take it anymore. It’s a wonderful, POWERFUL website/app but it was really eating my time. It was an excuse to check my phone so I wouldn’t feel awkward in public. So I deactivated it and deleted the app from my phone. I guess I am doing a social media cleanse.
It doesn’t mean that I am getting rid of social media for good. It’s a tool I need for my career. I am definitely going to use this blog, my twitter and instagram only to document my career and the moments in my life that I feel comfortable with sharing.
I wouldn’t say this is a resolution but I will say that not checking 7 social media apps at a time is a change that I need in life. In acting, the phrase “living in the moment” is basically most actors mantra. I want to definitely get my head out of my phone and I want to connect physically. I am not sure if I am one of the few that feel this way but for now, I won’t be liking 300 memes a day.
ANYWAY, I will be writing weekly. Writing about my experiences will motivate me to be a better person and will remind me to always stay sharp in my career,
I hope this blog motivates you too. I need to eat now.
Until next time,
Michael Segovia

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Today is a day to thank people and express gratitude even though this extreme appreciation should be practiced every day. I wanted to share with you guys what I am thankful for...
I am thankful for being healthy, mentally stable and physically unharmed. I’m thankful for my backbone which is the family I love & can’t wait to see in December. I am thankful for my Miami friends and my new crazy friends I have met here in Los Angeles. I am thankful for all my failures and rejections and constant “no’s" because they make me a stronger person. I am so thankful for the signs that I am headed in the right direction of my career and the opportunities I have had to work with such wonderful & extremely talented people. I just have total appreciation for everything in my life. I am in the right place of this crazy journey
Happy Thanksgiving to my family & friends. Have a great time & be safe. Set your alarms for Black Friday!!
I recently had the pleasure of working with Photographer Katherine Kirpatrick (...again) and . It was great shooting with her because she is an actress herself. She works carefully with the actor so they can get the great shots they deserve. I definitely got the shots I wanted!
