Perks of marrying a chef - no boring salads in this house! Beetroot, avocado, tomato, rocket, red onion, dukka marinated goats cheese and walnuts. Drizzled with a bit of balsamic glaze and Australian EVOO. #getinmybelly #food #salad #omnoms
Macadamia and coconut muesli with Greek yoghurt and fresh blueberries. Heavenly!
No words can describe how happy this makes me ❤️#coconut #healthysnack #heavenly #notdonewithsummeryet
This cook book is easily one of the most used in my collection. Whenever I’m not sure what to have for dinner, this is the book I turn to.
Such a fabulous collection of recipes, beautiful photography and an inspiring story.
The meal pictured is a combination of two of my most loved recipes from the book - Teriyaki Chicken and Stir-Fried Brown Rice with Nori and Sesame served with some broccoli and a little extra teriyaki sauce.
Saw the most amazing tomatoes at West End Markets last week and as they were near the entry, we said we’d get them on the way out. Bad idea, because they were sold out by the time we got back. And then I spent the entire week thinking about them. Didn’t make the same mistake this week! 🍅
Quick workout I'll have to try this week!
This morning's breakfast - light rye toast with Manuka honey, ricotta, blueberries and LSA. So delicious!

Found this and am inspired to make healthy french toast with figs, ricotta and honey for breakfast tomorrow!
Woke up today and realised that despite the 3 or so years I have lived out of home, I have never roasted a chicken. So today I did. Stuffing and all! And it was gooood 👌🍗😋
Feeling Better with Food
Yesterday, I woke up feeling really run down. I'd had a big week, and had things on both Thursday and Friday nights. It was the third Saturday at work in a row, and an 8:30am start meant no sleep in.
I decided to let myself sleep as late as possible to try to catch up. I had missed a few days of exercise during the week and while it would have been great to catch up on exercise, my body told me rest was more important.
While it would have been easy to get quick food options from work, I made a little extra time to stop by the supermarket on the way. Here's what my day of food looked like:
Breakfast
Avocado with salt, pepper and a tiny drizzle of Australian extra virgin olive oil on light rye bread
Apple
Soy latte
Lunch
Sandwich with light rye bread, chilli tuna, avocado and tomato
Coconut water
Dinner
Sushi salad (with extra crab meat)
Snacks
Strawberry Greek yoghurt
Miso soup with spinach and mushrooms
Tim Tam Chocolicious Dark Chocolate Bites (my new weakness)
Green tea
After leaving work after lunch, I put on the TV and took it easy. Couldn't sleep any longer than 9 hours last night, but today I'm feeling a bit more like myself!
I am such a firm believer in this. While I see a personal trainer once a week, everything else I do at home. I use yoga and Pilates DVDs (I have a yoga mat), Zumba on the Wii and have one set of dumbels, a fit ball and wrist and ankle weights for walking. Most of this I purchased very cheaply.
For workout inspiration, I browse Pinterest and read Women's Fitness and Women's health magazines.
The next item on my list? A kettle bell!
The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you. If you do that, you're in control of your life. If you don't, life controls you.
