anyway not to be corny but something about the ongoing theme on Midnights of taylor being haunted by the fact that the fame, her own drive and ambition has twisted and contorted her life so severely that she constantly fears the people around her expecting her to play a certain part for them, be it her fear that her future children will only want her for her name and money, wedding rumours from people wanting her to play a certain role in her relationship, being the girl in her friend group who hosts parties and plays it cool and has a perfect body, or even the blind faith and belief in her that people have that "she'll bounce back" from every crisis so effortlessly instead being a burden on her... and yet she finds a love that expects... nothing! oh you wrote a poem that's cool! all the noise from outside, wasn't even listening. you must like me for me.
