prompt: keith had spent his whole life living in foster care ever since the death of his father. he had been practically torn apart being sent from home to home, never feeling like he belonged and often mistreated. when he had aged out, he left everything behind, not sure what his goal in life was but just living day-to-day scraping by as an underpaid mechanic in a run-down city.
a promising job interview with an auto-repair shop a town over prompts keith to spare the gas for a trip over, job offers are near impossible to come by with his record.
lance came from a big and dysfunctional family. and while he did love most of them to death, there came a point where he couldn't anymore. all of his other siblings either did or would leave the second they were given the chance. when lance was eighteen, he decided that he was done waiting for a chance. he packed all of his most important belongings, tried to sell whatever else he could, and left. he didn't know where to, but he left.
unable to find a bus nor afford an uber to get where he needed to be, he decided his own two legs would have to do the trick. unable to believe himself, there he was, walking alongside the road with a thumb stuck out hoping for a ride.
that was when keith saw him, and slowed to a stop, rolling down his window.

prompt: a member of the blade of marmora, akira (keith) kogane is sent on a under cover mission in the altean empire to obtain information on the research of pidge and matthew holt, altean royal scientists. under the identity of keith, he spends weeks residing in the town where they are located in hopes of being able to get a hold of their research, however he finds little luck in being able to get close.
keith unexpectedly finds help in the form of lance mcclain, a farmer boy who runs his family's stand in the market. the man makes it a consistent effort to try and gain keith's attention through flirting every time he visits for groceries. keith pays him zero mind-- right up until lance decided to drop the little nugget of information that he happens to be very close with the holt siblings. now, he's interesting.
keith begins seeing lance in hopes of finding some form of access to the holts' research. but what happens when keith is suddenly faced with genuine affection he's never received in his life? what happens when he starts to feel emotions he's never felt before? and when things with the farmer get out of control, how will he choose between him and the mission?
i was saying this to my best friend the other day but why are voltron aus making keith either rich or like a prince or something. why must you take his poor kid sparkle. that man knows a 7/11 slurpee he knows a walmart brand bottle of soda. he deserves to know the simple pleasure of an inflatable backyard pool. I know he got those fuckass black jeggings from a thrift store. and that fuckass mullet is from great clips. is keith kogane truly keith kogane if hes not taking his change to the coinstar at the grocery store. dont take this from my man!!!!!!

concept: canonverse, altean and galran empire coexistence, galran empire isn't evil, blade of marmora is a branch of the galran military, spoiled and flirtatious prince lance
set-up: keith is a member of the blade of marmora, an elite faction of the galran empire's military that specializes in undercover, highly important missions. lance, prince of altea, is captured by a group of rebels and is being held prisoner in the center of a remote, dense cluster. the trip there is days-long and difficult, it takes a skilled pilot to navigate a path to the center. even the most advanced signals cannot reach him, leaving him completely isolated. however, what might prove even harder than saving the prince is having to put up with him all alone on the way out.

To say this was one of his most important missions in the history of his career was an understatement. The Altean empire was by far the greatest ally to the Galrans, and right now, the fate of their royal family rested in his humble hands. Lance, the sole Altean prince, had been captured by a rebel group and was being contained within a dense cluster that seemed hopeless to penetrate. Despite his relatively younger age, Keith was by far the most skilled pilot in the Blade, which meant he was the most skilled pilot the Galran empire had to offer. His knowledge made him qualified to navigate the cluster, and most likely to conduct a successful getaway chase if necessarily.
Keith couldn't deny his nerves. He knew the stakes with this mission. He knew failing was practically not an option. And he knew if he failed, he would die with Lance. But none of that mattered-- He's a Blade because he doesn't falter. He's a blade because if he can't get the job done, no one can. He's a blade because the mission becomes before anything else. The trip was undeniably difficult-- he'd basically had to find his own path through and any hopes of a signal to his ship was a joke. After days of careful mapping and navigation, he finally did it. He reached the center. He laid his eyes on the base, a small and honestly rather unimpressive structure. Getting through the dense walls of the cluster had been more than half the battle. He stealthily settled his ship near a back entrance, close to where he knew the location of the prince was. Carefully slipping inside, he took out his Blade and slit the throat of any rebels he passed, making sure to hide the bodies. He needed as little pursuers as possible when they realized the prince was gone. Ideally, with how small this organization was, he'd be able to get every last one. It was a miracle that they had been able to capture the prince to begin with-- Although he heavily suspected that prince Lance's notorious naivety had something to do with his kidnapping.
Keith had finally reached the cell where Lance was being kept, letting out a relieved breath as he saw him. Hurrying over, he brought a finger to his mouth to signal him to be quiet before kneeling to start picking the lock.

my rp style is lit, 1 paragraph responses (or more if compelled). i like plot-driven rps with nsfw (top keith, bottom lance). no topics are off limits but i don't usually go for exceptionally heavy horror. i tend to go for fantasy but am always up for modern as well.
i'm very loose on how i like to characterize lance and keith, depending on the rp i might like lance to be more shy, or more stuck-up, or more rebellious, etc etc and the same with keith. as long as its not wildly mischaracterized i enjoy just going with whatever fits the au best.
